Hi, earlier when I had the covers off the tank I noticed a slight bit of smoke coming from the juwel lighting
    http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/Products/Aquariums/Vision-Line/Vision-180-black.html#!juwel-000000000000009300 the one listed here
I plugged it out and left it off for about an hour.
I then plugged it back in and it make a small bang noise and didn't turn on. I assume its fecked now
where would be the best place to pick up a replacement or is it even worth going for repair?

I have a spare ballast for a vision 180 I'll sell you if you want to give it a go?

You can get a ballast in your local electrical wholesalers. The difficult bit is opening the sealed canopy and getting at old one.

I replaced mine last year and did so by cutting out a section of the plastic big enough to get at the ballast. I was worried about not having it water tight when I had it replaced so I got a glass fibre kit in my local DIY store and successfully sealed up where I had cut.

A new canopy from Juwel is very expensive so unless you're flush with the cash, replacing the ballast only is the way to go.
