Residence is delighted to announce the visit of Burak Sar aka SIS. A man with instantly recognizable percussive grooves and an unmistakable production style he will make his Residence debut at Lost Society on March 3rd.

From his initial beginnings as a DJ in Frankfurt and Mannheim Sis began his forays into the production game with his first release (Lilly from the Valley EP, Amused Rec.) in 2006 and what followed proved to be a steady stream of quality. His release for 8bit Rec (Voices of Istanbul EP), international attention came at the end of 2007 with his first EP for Cecille Rec. (La Garua/Orgsa), a record which sold out within a day in shops across Europe.

His second release for Cecille (Nesrib) was a certified bomb, playlisted by top DJs around the globe. Then came “Trompeta”, arguably the hit track of the summer 2008. A chance encounter with the renowned Ricardo Villalobos resulted in the track getting a release on his Sei es Drum moniker which up to that point had only showcased Ricardo’s own productions. Both DJs and DJ press agreed that SIS was one of the year’s best breakthrough acts, as Groove Magazine awarded him “Producer of the Year” and “Track of the Year” (1st Nesrib, 2nd Trompeta) honours in their end of year poll, and Raveline named him the #2 Live act of the year and Newcomer of the year.

Riding a well deserved wave of hype SIS has delivered further outstanding releases for Welcome to Masemenos and Connoisseur Recordings, and followed this up by establishing his own label Cocolino Records . 2012 saw one of his biggest releases to date in the form of his ‘Round Pen’ EP on the much-lauded Crosstown Records. The pick of the bunch being ‘Faces’ which was undoubtedly one of the most distinctive tracks to grace the White Isle last summer. With a host of new productions currently in play including the percussive bomb that is ‘2 The Rhythm’ and ‘Nunu’ both on the recent ‘Antes’ EP (Kaato Music) it seems like the enigmatic man is arriving in Dublin at just the right time.
