Flight prices to the USA

Has anyone noticed how expensive the flight prices are to the USA this year??? It's over 3000 for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. I can't believe they have increased so much in the space of a year, what's going on? Aer Lingus is over 4000 euro how do they put bums on seats charging these prices, can't believe they're…
