he also has a german ss officer tattoed on his chest. But saying that I meet him last year, he was guesting at a studio while I was getting work done by another artist. He seemed nice enough asking me about my tattoos but I didn't ask him for work or what his political ideas where, which got me wondering how much I actually know about the artist's who had already worked on me, their political beliefs etc could be the same....I know they was a campaign to ban him from all conventions and I also saw he had a black sleeve (covering old work he didn't want shown?) His work though, is nothing less than stunning it's only his subject matter that I have a problem with .

Well if he has a German SS officer tattoo'd on his own chest I think any doubts about him just doing what the customer asks can go out the window, I figured as much because I'd imagine most artists would point blank refuse to do the tattoo I'm talking about. Your right his work is amazing but despite that I could never have work done by him knowing what his beliefs are, it's a real shame you look at his Facebook he 30,000 people following him this how he chooses to use his talent and publicise his own racist thoughts.

Many artists may have beliefs or morals we personally don't agree with same as in life but I doubt very few are Neo Nazis or would be so public in there support of it.

For me like Bodice I'd go with he is a scumbag.

No matter how good an artists work is, I couldn't get something done by someone I know is a neo-Nazi. Same with music, there are many National Socialist Black Metal bands that I refuse to listen to because of their beliefs. I just don't get how they so willfully hate people for what they were born as.

Cheers for the link Marty. As i said to you, he is in my top 3 artists in the world along with Roman Abrego and Andy Engel. I dont care what his beliefs are and i know he has had people giving out on his facebook page about another tattoo he did because the client was wearing a swastika necklace for the picture.

This is a link to Den Yakovlevs portfolio, it is IMO one of the best portfolios that i have ever come across. Puts 95% of artists currently working to shame.

I've seen 1 Nazi tattoo he had done, the one you sent me. The same poster said he has a black sleeve, I saw a picture of him the other week and he has a tribal sleeve.

If not a Nazi himself, he's proven himself to be a Nazi sympathiser at the least. No amount of skill with a tattoo gun is going to make me respect that. I honestly find it quite disturbing, I had a little rant to Marty last night about how disgusting I found it. :mad:

In fairness theres a few Nazi ones on his facebook of famous Nazis in unifrom even looks at the comments on the pic you posted thats meant to be a Nazi during a famous battle, just google Den Yakovlev Nazi and you will find more works I myself just seen one of two Nazis holding a gun to the back of a mans head while hes on his knees with someone once again hanging from a tree and plenty of discussions on him being a Nazi and about him being banned from conventions etc.

Yep, with my own eyes, a full black sleeve, the picture you saw could be old and I never stated what was they before only questioned
