Right! We've been letting out hints left, right and centre about the return of Strangeways and here it is. We are
happy to announce we are back! We'll be going monthly in the Twisted Pepper from the 28th June. We have the Outlook Launch Party to tie you over in the meantime!

MUNGOS HIFI
Mungo's Hi Fi are a sound system based in Glasgow, Scotland. After working together as the Dub Dentists, Tom Tattersall and Doug Paine founded the group in 2000, writing, recording, producing and performing their own brand of reggae and dub music. Working in collaboration with other artists and producers such as Ranking Joe, Earl Sixteen, Sugar Minott, Soom T, Omar Perry (son of Lee Perry) and many many more they have crafted their own niche sound which is known around the world.

KRYPTIC MINDS
The Kryptic Minds sound acknowledges the difference between edgy and too angry; that restraint often has more impact than chaotic release. This deft understanding of the tensions and contradictions buried within dubstep, and how you use them is played out yet further on their new album “One of Us,” out on Swamp 81.As the flagship artists on Loefah DMZ’s label Swamp 81, their 12”s and album “One of Us” continue dubstep’s tradition for stone-cold halfstep, flying against the dancefloor’s natural urges for momentum and release. Instead they unleash fearsome sub bass assaults that lead listeners into an edgy otherworld and have become staples of sets by halfstep innovator Youngsta (Rinse FM) as well as Loefah himself.

COMMODO
Commodo is a relative new-comer to the scene, tailoring his art and waiting for the right opportunity to release his own brand of sound has paid dividends to this understated producer. He's been probed for techniques and influences, to try and gain an insight into his Modus Operandi, but this remains a man who wisely keeps his cards close to his chest. Deep chest riddims is what this guy delivers.

We'll have James Kirwan, Ivan O Sullivan, Conor Griffin and Sean Bird playing the choicest hip hop in The Box. Its been a while since all these lads have been under the one roof. Expect mayhem!

Strangeways residents Maul, Mr. Devitt, Emmo, Deely & Fizzik will be up in the smoking area, lashing out the dubs!
