Hi guys,
I have Eircom Broadband in the house. It is 8mb and I have my laptop connected to it through wifi and then I have an Ethernet cable connecting the box to my my sky box for on Demand. The problem I am having is when ever the ethernet cable is plugged in I am losing signal on the laptop. the sky box does not be downloading when this happens. When you look at the eircom box the internet light is gone off. If you plug out the ethernet cable it lights back up. I thought with 8mb broadband it should run both easily enough.
Any help would be grateful.

You're plugging it in the wrong port/its a dead cable.
