A TEENAGER from Ireland has been killed fighting with rebels in Syria.

The 16-year-old is understood to have joined the rebel forces who have been fighting the regime of Bashar al-Assad since early 2011...

...According to reports, the teenager’s father runs a halal shop in Navan .

His death comes two months after 23-year-old Hudhaifa El Sayed – who spent much of his life in Drogheda, Co Louth – also died while fighting the Assad regime .

Very sad. The mess over there touches all countries in some way.

My deepest sympathies to his family.

    RIP.

This has nothing to do with Louth.

I mention the article because it references the Drogheda chap also.
I didn't know about his own involvement and passing.
Others like-wise might still be unaware of such local connection with serious connected events.

Apologies if my posting it is in the wrong.
