    Hi,
    I was working over in NYC over the summer on a J1. I'm just after receiving my w2 form and tax statement back from the company I was working with. I'm just wondering what are the steps necessary in receiving the tax refund, what kind of taxes can I get refunded for (federal,state,NY), what percentage of the tax should I get refunded and how long does it take?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

    Ya man I just used taxback.com . They do charge for this service but it was the easiest option for me. I think I paied 156$ and a 31$ handeling charge but got back over 1000 Euro. Think I paid nearly 2500$ in tax when I was over there. I got it back in 2 stages as well got like 600 euro a few months ago and another 550 last week.
