Bad news. Shame on the IRFU for appealing, Healy if he plays, and the 6N for bungling his punishment. Oh the cynicism of professional rugby.

    lol, what?

I don't think he should be available, but there was significant ambiguity in the 'sentencing'. Clearly a 3 week ban encompassed a 4 week period. Which is pretty odd no?

Ban should have been 5/6 weeks with the customary ball-tickler "1 off for previous record, 1 off for behaviour and remorse" and then he wouldn't have been available. From citing commission's perspective, they f'ed up.

"Shame on Healy" for doing the job that he is paid to do? He got off by a clerical error effectively, taking the high ground now would be bizarre to say the least. Breaking out of Jail and then living on bread and water for a year just cause.

[BTW, I think only missing one match for that offence is very lenient, but come on like...]

With regards to Earls's break and subsequent not passing in the match, do people think he should be dropped because of it? I feel he has demonstrated clearly over the last two games how dangerous he really can be when played in his natural position. I think myself that his starting the next match would be justified but would have no problem with Fitz starting either.

About Earls not finding BOD inside him though - is this that Earls is particularly selfish / has a lack of awareness? Or is it something that the coaching team have failed to ingrain in the Irish set up - that one should always look for support runners when having made the line break.

From watching the All Blacks what has struck me is the sheer number of support runners any player will have when he makes a linebreak - this is the reason that tries are virtually always taken when the opportunity arises. In the Ireland-Scotland game I noticed that BOD was the only one in support of Earls during that break and had to work his ass off to do so.

Anyway I know this thread is for changes to the team and not about team coaching, so I'll stop here.

France ( when they play well) generally have support runners to the player who's made the break aswell-I don't if our players are just slower to support or slower to react. We're often that second slower getting to the breakdown aswell.Earls should know at this stage to be looking for support-he's done it a few times now. It's not like he's an inexperienced player anymore.

    lol, what?

Just a clause to be fair to Healy. He can yet do the honourable thing and not play. Until he actually plays i wouldnt like to condemn him.

If Cian Healy ever touches a rugby ball again he should be locked in a jail cell with Theirry Henry. Also, we should boycott churches and dance music.

On the off chance you're serious, no he can't. Otherwise he would be failing to turn up to work without cause.

Anyone catch Franno on the last word this evening? He believes ROG only needs a full 80 minutes to be back to his peak level, wasn't entertaining the point that he may just not have it anymore.

If anything Henderson might be a better option at lock.

Not yet has no where near the same impact playing lock as he does 6.
