Just wondering if anyone has noticed a jump in there Gas Bills lately

i have a 3 bed terraced house, 3 bedrooms, we use the gas for heating and hot water the cooking is electricity , but i have noticed its costing between 27-30 euro a week ?

i turn the hot water on around 8 am , and about 3.30 i turn on the heating and then i turn them both off at 11.00pm ,

Does this seem a bit dear ???

Did you check to see if its actual reading or an estimate? The latter can be wildly wrong.

I had a huge electricity bill once, it turned out to be my neighbour pilfering my electricity to grow his hash plants. But that was Berlin. Perhaps you neighbour is a Nazi?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I use a prepaid meter and the cost has jumped significantly in the past month or so. We used to get over a week out of 20 quid, now its costing us 30 and we barely get the week out of it with the same usage.

Would it be mad altogether to suggest you give Bord Gais a ring and ask them what's the story, seeing as they're the one sending you the bigger bill?

People using prepay meters get ripped off royally.

Try running the gas off the electricity and the electricity off the gas.

I have a 3 bed semi, my bill would be about 25p.w. I'm with bord gais also. That would be the months between October and February. The rest of the year it would be about 15p.w.

Ours is €32.50 per week (Oct-Jan ). They've been harassing my mother for the past week to pay her bill even though when she gets the bill she pays €50 a week. Looks like it's time to switch. Ridiculous people.

yeah ours is gone up hugely. 3 bed, big, 1970s un-insulated apartment with single glazing (with nobody living in the adjoining apartment so effectively fcuking detatched). Just got the bill there yesterday, €300 for mid December to mid February :( It was that for mid-December to mid March last year so yeah, the price has gone up a good bit. Naturally enough, I'm also skeptical about the new meters that are being put in. Think I'll have a good nosey at it today and make sure the reading matches what they have on the bill.

Lads, it's cold out. Of course it's going to be more expensive to heat your house.

Go up to bonkers.ie and stick in your details. I switched to Bord Gais for electricity and Flogas for gas recently and I'd say it's going to save me about €250 over the year.

Current rates for gas are up here:

Wow ya don't say! It's cold out! Jesus I hadn't noticed

The difference is that it was cold out last year and didn't cost nearly as much, even with the heating on the same setting...

Certainly plenty of posts here breaking the "being a dick" rule, it's so easy not be one.

OP, you might get some better answers here.
