What's the exact model and version of Windows?

Also, what is your internet connection? (WiFi router, 3G modem etc)

    win 8 Laptop, see,
    http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/connect-wirelessly-to-the-internet-with-windows-8.html
IF win 7 OS click wifi icon, click avaidable networks, if you have upc,
    click upc network; name,click connect,
first time ,put in wifi router password, tick box, remember my password.
Your network name could be Upc 10087hjk etc

OR plug in laptop to router ,using an ethernet cable.
Some routers may need a username.
    as well as a password.
IF you dont know leave it blank, put in password, click ,ok, connect.
    turn on laptop,
turn on wifi switch, ON.usually on side, front of laptop case.
OR look on your isp eg upc, smartelecom website, faq, setup wifi, router,
    The wifi username,
password maybe written on the router ,side,or underneath router.
