Problem connecting Roku 2 XS to internet

    Hi,
    Just got a Roku 2 XS streaming player today (bought from Groupon). Ive tried (all F~~kin day!) to set it up and connect it to internet but no joy.
    It comes up on tv ok and scans for wireless networks. Finds my network no problem and asks for password. It accepts password & brings me onto "Connecting to the internet" page where there are three stages
    1 "Connecting to wireless networks"
    2 "Connecting to your local network"
    3 "Connecting to the internet"
    I get a green light on steps 1 and 2 above , but it fails on step 3 and asks me to check my internet connection - which is working fine.
    My router is a Cisco EPC2425 from UPC.
    Any ideas at all really, really appreciated!!
    P.S. - Im not very tech savvy at all!!!
