No access to a television so if somebody could mail me what everyone wants, I would share it with others. Many thanks.

Can't see past Michaels in this one. They will feel its their destiny to face the old enemy in the final and will have no sense of complacency, they will be all business.

CCR is not even contemplating that as an option. Yes there was a blip on the intake last year but there are many lads out there considering a move to the school after Junior Cert and into their fantastic TY programme
And of course their Rugby Scholarship programme is only now kicking into action. All the Past Pupils of Roscrea are very proud of the lads achievements over the last 2 years.

The school's management may refuse to admit that they are in trouble; but an intake of 12 1st years year tells a different story. Even as I was going through the school the years were getting smaller, it's not so much as a blip, more like a steady decline...When I first went, most years were at 60+ & the school was at a capacity of 350, now they can barely field an U14 team. If the numbers aren't there, then the school can't sustain it's running costs.

Handing out several rugby sholarships a year unfortunately might not be enough to save Roz (the lure of a scholarship couldn't pry Robbie Henshaw away from the Marist 2 years ago), which would be a damn shame, as it's a great school.

some wonderful off loads by the forwards, allen to penny to coulson to O'Hare.

    some great passes there.

all came from Kelleher's lovely break.

    7 - 0 to Michaels after 9 minutes.

    great conversion

    bridge going for the points.

bridge dominated territory so far, so really need to convert this to have something to show for all their effort.

    7 - 3.

    Healy converts.

lovely kickoff, michaels claim. clever kick through by gilsenan just squirts out. lineout to bridge inside their 22.

not taken cleanly again., cleared but michaels lineout inside 22.

penalty to michaels in from the side, byrne going for 3.

not the best angle for a right footed kicker and missed.

    7 - 3 to Michaels.

    17 minutes gone.

good work by newbridge, penalty just inside michaels half, healy going for 3 points.

    very far out, just missed

    7 - 3 to Michaels.

michaels penalty just outside their 22 for hands on the ground.

    lineout around halfway to michaels.

and wide, michaels making yards easily, some passing releases kelleher

great play by newbridge 7 causes penalty and cleared by bridge for lineout.

    overthrown and michaels have.

inside the 22 now, but again some good defence causes a penalty to be given away.

bridge number 8 off for blood sub.

bridge kick, fails to find touch.

byrne passing very flat and finally clever kick behind the defence leads to lineout to bridge inside their 22.

    michaels disrupt and steal.

great drive by murphy and it goes wide again. 5m out.

byrne breaks a tackle and it keeps going.

    mccarthy breaks, try.

    12-3 to micheals.

27 minutes gone.. lovely offload again by coulson lead to try.

    conversion to come

    14 - 3 Micheals.

bridge win penalty to relief pressure inside their 5.

    long break for injury.

replay of first try and wonderful offload by coulson for the try.

    lineout bridge inside the half.

Thanks for the updates but but Michaels is spelt 'a' before 'e'

bridge go wide and break by bridge which leads to michaels knock on.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    14-10 to Michaels.

    lovely conversion

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    some air ping pong.

    and halftime.

    14-10

Fascinating game. Michaels are dominating the back play and look dangerous any time they go wide. Newbridge are hammering them at the breakdown though, they're 7 and 5 particularly have had stormers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭MoneyMilo

Referee isn't making the Newbridge bodies roll away as he should

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

another good reclaim by micheals from a kickoff

lineout not straight, micheals scrum inside bridges half.

some great wide play and micheals are inside the 22

overlap, lovely offload to byrne, byrne gets over but is held up.

    scrum 5m out to micheals.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

and wide, byrne breaks and TRY

19-10 to Michaels. conversion to come.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

penalty to bridge just outside michaels 22.

fails to make kick and michaels clear to outside 22.

    lineout bridge.

    disrupted but bridge has.

wide and kick dribbles to touch, lineout michaels on 22

    byrne clears.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

Ryan has really impressed me today.

scrum to bridge, turnover ball but pass goes out.

lineout to bridge inside their half.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    throw was horribly not straight.

    scrum michaels.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    scrum michaels inside bridges half.

some more lovely back play but knock on.

    scrum bridge.

go wide but not much made, wide again.

good kick by bridge and kelleher clears

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

bridge don't have any momentum, cant see them winning.

    10 minutes left

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

newbridge 7 has been very good

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    5 minutes plus injury left.

    11 points in it.

last 15 minutes spent in bridges half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 backrower8

Michaels discipline really poor - so many penalties.

At the same time the Referee has ridden them so hard. The High tackle against 6 foot 6 Moloney versus a guy of 6 foot 6 was ridiculous

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

    try bridge.

    21 - 17.

    in injury time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

Grandstand finish now for the game. Was that the Michaels Fly half that got the yellow?

    the
    dream
    final

Rigged . Done in the backroom at the RDS . Nod nod wink wink. Big payday for the Branch. ROCK champions in waiting. How can the smaller country schools be expected to compete with these rugby superpowers.

Was it rigged two years ago as well, when every decent team in the competition were on the one side of the draw and a mediocre Roscrea team made the final. Remove the chip from your shoulder good lad

Both semi finals were great entertainment and the two smaller country schools could if easily made the ffinal on a different day, both should be proud of themselves for getting there proving the smaller schools can compete with the superpowers

It actually seemed like the ref wanted to favour newbridge with the amount of times he penalised Michaels. They weren't allowed play rugby the second half. By far the better team but the score doesn't reflect that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 backrower8

When they click Michaels look the best side in the Cup, with great interplay from 1 to 15...but they can also look ponderous from over elaboration when some good hard straight running would serve them better.

Discipline was poor...too many penalties...Rock will be expected to win on that basis alone given Ringrose's 16 from 17 kicks!!

Runners got isolated (Kelleher has gone backwards as a player - he rarely links and dies with the ball, doesn't like running into contact), scrum disrupted, lineouts pilfered by a very game but inferior Newbridge side.

Rock deserve to be favourites. 2 score game with Ringrose the difference.
