Any chance of making it compulsory to have actual reasons from the mods when they hand out yellow or red cards on threads?

I've seen N/A written so many times on the site when a user gets a card. It might not be apparent to everyone the mods subjective opinion/ruling and why they gave the card.

All they need to do is write a few lines on why the card is issued, thats all.

The person infracted would receive the reason via pm.

Would it not be beneficial for others to know so they don't go the same direction? It might reduce the requirement for future moderator action in that particular thread. In fairness many mods do this anyway but there have been occasions when someone has been banned and there's no indication why.

I would imagine it's quite clear usually why someone has been banned or infracted, on account of it usually being something against the charter.

There's usually also a mod warning either following it, or earlier in the thread as well.
