I moved to Maynooth in September for college and am STILL finding my way about the place and trying to figure out the bus and train routes. I want to do volunteering/fostering with Drogheda Animal Rescue but I've no idea how to go about getting from here to Drogheda without spending a fortune (it appears to be €23 for a return ticket on the train which I just can't afford). Does anyone know if there's a regular bus going there, and whereabouts it goes from/to and all that? Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

(Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place...)

A2B Coaches do Monaghan-Maynooth. EDIT: Goes via Slane: http://www.a2bcoaches.ie/index.php/licensed-routes . You would need to see if you could connect with a Bus Éireann rotue 188 Drogheda - Slane - Navan - Trim: http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1284376007-188.pdf

You'd be looking at 2 hours each way on public transport easily. Why not try a charity closer to Maynooth?

Does it have to be Drogheda animal rescue? There's a lot of rescues around the Kildare area that would be a lot easier for you to get to.

E-mail Matthews to check their stops.

Thanks everyone, I had no idea how far away Drogheda actually is, I thought it was much closer. I was really keen on helping the Animal Rescue there because it's such a great charity but I guess I'm going to have to try finding one nearer to home if I have to. I'll check out the Matthews coach though, just in case :)
