LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes for the Wii U is £10.95 currently on thegamecollection. It's a flash sale so it only runs for roughly another 12 hours or until it sells out. It's another £2 for delivery and works out at €14 total.

If someone could give a bump near the end date! Skint at the minute but there's a few I'd love to get. Metroid Prime Trilogy being one!

Argos have Captain Toad with Amiibo for €40 - Not a lot of stock in the Pale though. There was one in Liffey Valley about 5 minutes ago.

Smyths have dropped Story of Seasons to €20, NSMB-U is also €20, which isn't astounding or anything but the picture shows the proper blue box (Was this ever budget-released?) and it's bricks n mortar. Chibi Robo with Amiibo is €15 officially now (think it's been there a while but some stores still had it at 24.99)

Cheers! Just reserved Chibi-Robo. €15 for game and Amiibo is pretty good. I guess CEX will give me €15 for the game!!!

Is captain toad actually any good?

It's great! If you've played the levels on Mario 3d World it's pretty much just an expansion of that. I loved it.

I don't think Captain Toad is great, far from it. Very simplistic gameplay and the levels are quite short. No challenge whatsoever and I'm on the 3rd book(the last few levels are supposed to be hard but I like to be challenged throughout). The graphics look nice but then they're small and self contained. It's the best thing I can say about the game, they're super polished. I'll eventually go back to it at some point but I've no desire to do so at the moment.

Have you played Yoshi's Woolly World? Amazing game, beautiful, lengthy, real relaxing, mellow game.

There's a secondhand copy of Captain Toad on Adverts for €20.

It's been there for the past few days with no interest so maybe you can haggle a deal.

I've been meaning to, I'll probably pick it up if it ever goes on sale, it looks beautiful and those yarn amiibo are so loveable looking!

As for captain toad, I'm now unsure as to whether or not to bother with it if that's the kind of criticism levelled at it to be honest. :/

:D sligeach criticises everything!! Just watch a few youtube vids/reviews, there may even be a demo? I loved it and got plenty of value for money.

I really enjoyed it. Pick it up second hand and sell it on afterwards as it's not that long. Great game imo.

That's not fair. I just said Yoshi's Woolly World is a great game. The Wii U has loads of terrific games, Pikmin 3, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario Maker, Monster Hunter 3 U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and many, many more.

I've a problem with Super Mario 3D World and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was a cheap way of using that engine. The game has other problems, like it being very short. You'll fly through the levels.

And there's no demo of the game. Captain Toad is alright, it's just that I don't think it's worth full price. Nintendo did launch it that bit cheaper for that very reason.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,752 ✭✭✭johnpatrick81

Hehe I'm only messing, but yeah you're right it's a cheaper priced game for a reason. Pretty sure I got it for around €30 new when it was released, and traded it in for there or thereabouts in CEX when finished.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Saw it on the shelves of CEX a few times for €45!
IT WASN'T THAT EXPENSIVE WHEN IT CAME OUT CEX, GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER!!!

I also enjoyed Captain Toad, it's a fun little game. It definitely gets tougher towards the end too.

Upvote here for Captain Toad, a very nice puzzler though not that hard.
Reminds me of Luigi's Mansion in the way that Nintendo can create diorama type solid little play areas for us to tinker around on.
Each Captain Toad level feels like it could be 3D printed and made into a real thing.
Plus, pop on a Toad Amiibo and it unlocks an extra challenge of spot the 8bit Toad in the game.
There's also unlockable Captain Toad levels set in repurposed Super Mario 3D World levels, as payback for the good Captain having his levels debuted in the WiiU opus.
