    Heating Query's

I have a few questions though on Gas heating is it better to have all radiators on in a house were only some rooms are been used or is it better to leave them all on?.

also is it better to have your heating on a timer to come on at certain times or just have it on low for so many hours?

We have and old fashioned like a light switch with two buttons to turn on one side is for Hot Water and the other is for Heating , can u just have the heating switch on or must you have both on , ie you have to have the water switch on if you have the Heating one on ?

From your post it is clear you need some good advice. Your heating system appears to be old or at least uncontrolled.
You can control the heat in each room with a basic radiator valve which will keep the temperature at a set level (if the system is running).
Your hot water and heating should be separate using a more sophisticated system. This may not be expensive depending on the system you have installed.
The only answer is to get a qualified heating engineer to look at your system and confirm what can be done to improve your efficiency.
When you have this advice you can post again and ask for further advice before spending any money.
