    I know students aren't entitled to social welfare payments but does this apply to students who are out sick from college?

    Yes because if youre out sick from college you'd be out sick from ay job you had and social welfare is for people who are available to work.

    If you have deferred the year you can claim welfare but not if you are only off sick.
