    Hi All,

My wife and I are moving to Vancouver at the end of March. We are looking for accomodation from Apr 1 and would be grateful to anybody who has any advice. We are looking at craiglist and so on but obviously cannot view any places till we arrive. Maybe somebody knows someone who has a place available now or around that time.

We are open minded on areas..interested in Kitsilano, Burnaby, New Westminister and North Van.

    I appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks.

I live in New Westminster. It's 27 minutes to Waterfront (Downtown Van) by Sky Train, and still in zone 2. Sky Train is very reliable, much more so than the London Underground. There are some nice condos by New West Station ( where I live) called Plaza 88. There are 3 condo towers attached to the Sky Train and a shopping mall. Sky Train is on P6 and there is a Safeway on P4 along with some food places.
Downside of New West are the freight trains whistling at the level crossings, but you get used to that. I don't even notice them anymore.
Monthly 2 zone pass is $ 124 ( tax deductible) for unlimited transit in Zones 1 & 2

    Hope this helps...........

Can anyone recommend a decent hostel in downtown Vancouver? Need it for about a week Id say - work subbing me out to another company and need someplace to stay til I find somewhere more permanent.
