Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How will it keep you warm when United win the league if it's on the ceiling of a pub?

Enough about the f**king scarf, it's a match thread, keep it on topic.

Back to the match anyway, I actually can't wait for it. I'm incredibly jealous of all real United fans today, it seems like a lifetime ago since Liverpool were involved in matches like this and destroying Madrid at Anfield.

i hope so, we'll need his speed and ability on the counter as an outlet,

Can't stand ITV, Andy Townsend is a bellend.

As i have to record, no sky, so will probs pick TV3 at least they have extended highlights of the other game, usually.

I dunno, I DESPISE a man that captained and played for Ireland 70 times only to commentate on England games and refer to them as WE

Born, raised, lives in England. He is English, not irish.

Are you sure he actually does say 'we'? I have not heard that. Wouldn't bother me though because he is English.

Or am i missing something? I always thought when you play international football you are indeed playing for "YOUR COUNTRY"

Says we all the time, probably not noticeable as it isn't that big of a deal in reality, it just rubs me up the wrong way...meh!!!

No, his country didn't want him and he wouldn't have got near their starting 11. Just like countless other " irish" players. He got to play in 2 world cups because of the choice he made.

I cant wait for tonight, I predict many cards and not just in the game.

I'm really hating all of this optimism towards United. Optimism is the enemy, pessimism is the key to victory*!

    *well for fans anyway.

Depends, are we talking match day scarves or just general club scarves that say the teams name?

I'll agree to disagree as we won't reach a compromise, you obviously feel different than I on the matter and that's cool.

What if Andy Townsend is spotted wearing a half scarf while singing god save the queen? Can we discuss that?

Anyway, I fancy Madrid to go through, but only marginally, 2-2 on the night but it should be a cracker either way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Only time I get half half scarfs is when at Ireland Match abroad.

    Club ones no thanks.

    I imagine it will be

    D.Lpoez
    Arbeloa Varane Ramos Coentrao
    Khedira Alonso
    Di Maria Ozil Ronaldo
    Benzema

This match feels more like semi final tie then last 16.

Can never remember tie this early with more hype.

Depends what the scarf is, is it half England/Rep of Ireland one?

If so yes we can discuss it, only after the game though.

    If Jones really isn't fit:

    DDG
    RDS
    Rio
    Evans
    Evra
    Clev
    HardToBelieveItsNotScholes
    Nani
    Rooney
    Young
    RVP

Lindegaard, Kagawa, Valencia, Chico, Welbeck, Smalling, Anderson.

Tonight is just a bonus imho. It's not the end of the world if we do go out to an excellent side. Priority should be the EPL.

Just a question, no need for arguments or anything. How do you all feel about SAF disrespecting the real Ronaldo in this press conference?

I didn't watch the video so not sure in what way he said. *assumption* Like there are 2 Ronaldos so he couldn't think of anything at that moment to make reference to Cristiano and Brazilan one (not any younger you see) so accidently said "fatty one".

I feel it was disrespectful towards all time great player. He shouldn't have used that word.

Brazilian, that word would have been enough.

My expectations are far too high for this game from a United perspective. Definitely need some of that glorious pessimism

I'd like to see Nani but I think it will be Welbeck and probably Kagawa instead of Young? But that's just me, who knows what Fergie will go with.
