Super Jan heard ya... Poor first half though. Seem to have started brightly but don't think Liverpool are done in the goals department.

Never rated him and today is another example of why. Don't believe I've ever seen him do anything worthwhile.

    Embarrassing.

I missed the entire 2nd half. Would it be safe to say that we were in control until Walker's brain-fart? Shocking if true and it's such a shame as I thought he was really coming along in the last few games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,747 ✭✭✭irishmover

I've seen that penalty 5 times now and everytime it looks more and more like a dive.

Then Suarez pulled his hand away from Parker as he tried to shake his hand... Suarez doesn't do himself any favours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

We were in control of the game until Walker ****ed up.

All I can think of it, You're Welcome! that's how you lose a game without your opponents doing anything!

Walker & Defoe gifted that game to Liverpool, can't blame Lloris or BAE. At 2-1 we were cruising.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

    What did Defoe do?

Chested it and volleyed it back into the danger area, where Suarez got it and dropped to the ground to win the penalty.

Defoe screwed up and Suarez dived! Not sure who was worse.

Anyway never expected us to even get one point in this game. Just glad it's out of the way and hopefully nobody injured. Hammer Fulham next week while im there would be nice!

Instead of controlling the ball, launched it back into our box, Benny panicked, Saurez took a dive.... http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/steven-gerrard-puts-liverpool-3-2-up-v-spurs/

I'd rather see Livermore at QPR. His first fcuking instinct is to go backwards than forward. Its like playing with 10 men.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Cheers - absolutely shocking from Defoe, what was he thinking?!! There was contact but not enough to knock Suarez over. Still, two once-in-a-season mistakes from Defoe and Walker throw the game away. It's so important to bounce back next Sunday.

Can somebody please explain how we lost that game today? Were in cruise control at 2-1! Absolutely sickened

Thats 2 big defeats on merseyside now where it looked like we would be picking up 6 points.

    Fulham huge next week.

Double wammy for spurs fans really. As well as losing, we've got to go to work tomorrow. Not something many liverpool fans have to worry about. And the basturds get their dole on Tuesday. Ah this shiotes not right.

lads, lets chill before it gets too heated, we ****ed up - any team could have beaten us in the way that we lost today - take it on the chin and move on.

Exactly. Most of us would have been chuffed with a draw so all we've really missed out on is 1 point. I know having been ahead we should have had more, but we could easily go on another unbeaten run from here on in. We simply must beat Fulham next weekend though - the Inter game needs to be properly prioritised by AVB, behind Sunday's game.

It's the manner of the defeatI think. Being ahead and in control only to lose because of stupid and completely avoidable mistakes is painful. Emotions are bound to be high :o

    Spurs fan.

Thought we couldnt cope with the speed of Liverpool in the first half. Livermore and Parker too slow as a midfield partnership.

Got lucky to get back into the game with the first goal.

Very good for the first twenty minutes of the second half and deservedly leading.

Sigurdson's chance was to kill it off.

There were a couple of outrageous back-passes to Lloris in the first half (when unable to cope with Liverpool's pressing) and it was a disasterous attempt from Walker. Unlucky to have it deflect off Downing.

Thought it was a definite penalty.

Had we held on to the three points could nearly start celebrating.

Defoe and Livermore not good enough for Champions league team. We are a Suarez away from challenging from the title.

Vertonghen is really growing into a player. Lloris as well. Need a striker bad.

Typical. Win against the big sides then mess this up. We don't like trips to Liverpool. Then again who does!

Watching that dive from Suarez again. At no point does BAE make contact which would cause Suarez's legs to drop like that. Either he's got the worst balance in the world or he's dived.

Also reading that Liverpool thread I'm delighted I don't have posting rights. Bale dived to get that freekick for the first goal? He was facing the other way, Gerrard hit him hard on the back of the head when he wasn't expecting it. Whether it was a freekick or not it doesn't matter he was hit hard unexpectedly.

Ah come on my friend, Gerrard won the ball for the first "foul" against Bale, it should never have been given. He should expect those contests in the air. As for the second "foul" that lead to Spurs second, it never was. Its comical that a Spur's fan can be critical of Suarez. But you must let all the tension out some way :)

great game for the bindippers/neutrals but we blew it

You really are an embarrassment to the decent Spurs fans who frequent the SF tbf. As I eluded to in the matchthread, I know the odd kid who hates Liverpool and would use that term. A child!
Your kidding me right? Enjoy your cup final win. The ****e that is spouted on that liverpool thread is unbelievable. A lot of you lot still think ye will get 4th. Delusional. Go back to the 80s fella

A lot? Not an ounce of being OTT in that comment, no siree.

You're right, off the pitch he seems like a nice guy, but on the pitch he most certainly is a despicable character, a really unpleasant, unlikeable player who does himself no favours. But there's no denying his quality and that finish for the 1st goal was lovely - h'e s a brilliant striker and you're also right, if he was at Spurs we'd probabaly be challening for 1st!!

Yeh so we can agree the referee was ****e then? Liverpool were lucky but maybe it was overdue but seriously watch BAE's challenge on Suarez. Nothing in it and Suarez went for a swim. How he fell was as unnatural as bale holding his face after being tipped by Lucas.

As I said whether it was a freekick or not for Gerrards header it doesn't matter. Liverpool fans are stating he dived, but he didn't. The difference between that and Suarez going to ground was that there was actual contact made which could have hurt Bale, as I said, unexpectedly. You think Bale dropped to the ground looking for a free kick there? He went down coz he wasn't expecting anyone to hit their forehead off the back of his head. I've seen it happen time and time again and all players go down but sometimes referees give/don't give it.

He did get hit on the chin by Lucas but was completely innocuous and to be fair far too many players go down like Bale did. He needs to kick it out of his game as going to ground like that is stupid.

Shame Liverpool fans think Suarez is a saint when he's as bad as Bale, and arguably worse. Everytime I watch Liverpool Suarez is either scoring or rolling on the ground. He's having a great season for Liverpool, I believe he's shy of being involved in 58% of Liverpools goals this season (therefore Liverpool by far more a one man team than Spurs but lets not get into that). But he needs to get rid of that ridiculous diving image that most fans without rose tinted glasses can see.

Just like Bale. Unfortunately every club has players like that. Its irritating.

Anyway as I said. Never even expected a point from this game so prediction for the season is still sound for now.

One of those, if he's at your club you love him type players for sure alright. Probably how Bale is for you lot.

Well not really, Bale does silly things and dives often. Wish he'd kick it out of his game as its a bad image for the club when we've had honest players like Klinsmann and Ginola at the club! Don't like players diving no matter who they play for and Suarez is another example.

Lads, will yis ever give it up with the bitching etc etc... not in the humour of deleting posts and replying to PM's etc..

Disgusted we thew that away. I thought we were looking very comfortable at 2-1, but a combination of Walker, Lloris, Defoe and BAE and we blew it. I'd be claiming a penalty if it was up our end so no complaints about that one.

What's the crack with all the livermore bashing again

Do Liverpool fans come on here to gloat?

If we got shut of our 2 FBs and got in a world class striker we'd be in the run for the title.

    Back passes!!
