RMA to China - can't post because of battery?

I have to RMA a tablet because it's faulty, lady in the post office just told me that if it contains a battery customs could destroy it if they check it. Surely I'm not the first to have send electronics to China that contain a battery, who/what should I use to send this back? The tablet has a faulty screen which became…

I spoke with their live support the other day, he said they could send me a replacement screen and I get it repaired locally, emailed their after-sales and told them about the problems with the tablet and posting, incl pics, video's etc and told them I want a new screen sent to me and I will get it repaired. Their response
