I have a new windows 8 machine and i need to use autocad revit but it won't work with windows 8 yet

So i was thinking of setting up a VHD on the PC and installing windows 7

The pc i bought has a 2tb hard drive that's already partitioned into two drives c: & d:

Do i have to install the VHD on the c: or can i install it on d:?

If i create a VHD, is it possible to lose any files that already on the drive i install to?

    It seems fairly straight forward?

    Thank you!

You can create a virtual hard drive wherever you want. You will not loose data, it's just a container which will reserve the assigned disk space.
