Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He was just turning him, an ordinary move for a defender.

    Just pure bad luck.

That would mean City had good luck, and Mancini knows only United get the luck...

He may be at fault for more goals than any defender in premier league history. Abject on so many levels.

    Bit OTT??

But he had a lot of time to either clear the ball or start again with his keeper. He dwelt on it way too long considering he was last man back (Guzan aside).

What was Clark complaining about? It's not Mike Dean's fault he's shít. But the best thing about the goal was the audible sigh of resignation from behind the goal. :pac:

Dzeko wouldn't have got near Clark or possibly fouled him if he hadn't slipped. Which is bad luck.

But yes he could have cleared it a second or 2 earlier.

Was wondering how long before you'd post about Clark. Kinda sad at this stage.

If he was half as good at defending as you are at nonsensically defending him he may not be dominating the Christmas blooper dvds footage for a second year in a row.

Nah he was acting the bollix dwelling on the ball and asking for trouble.

Stupid decision making as he should have cleared it but a bit unlucky too. Thought he was fouled, dzeko clipping his foot made the slip worse

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,967 ✭✭✭Synode

He should have just cleared it or played it back to Guzan. Why the hell was he trying to turn an attacker when he was the last man. Brain dead

Feel bad for Clarke horrible for any defender to be in that situation

Not defending him at all, he's been very poor this year at times. But usually yoor posts about him include 'worst defender ever' nonsense or words to that effect. Must have got quite excited when he slipped for the goal I suspect.

Tbf the excitement wares thin when it becomes all too regular an occurrence like it's becoming, was a thrill to begin with, just going through the motions now.

If City get a second now, it'll be rugby score. Come on Villa though :P

It's matches like this that shows how disastrous Lamberts inability to replace or at least attempt to replace Petrov is. Team just goes through the same toothless and lack of leadership pattern when they've gone behind.

It really is always the same.

City's build up play is going well enough but hard to get a clear shot away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

To be fair to Villa they have ran their bollox off. Expect them to fade badly in the last twenty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,907 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Great pressure relieving kick from Hart, does that well regularly.

City are really sloppy at the back now...

What i would do to get Yaya to United. Some man.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,907 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Some strike from nothing by Yaya.

    Ugh, Nasri.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,580 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Awful from Weimann, very typical of Villa's performance in the City half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,246 ✭✭✭Esse85

Gabby is so ineffective on the wing, he hasn't the brain to play there.

    Villa fans really quiet tonight.

City haven't gotten outta 2nd gear.

    Agh Weimann

Delph has improved a lot lately, will be important for the games against Reading and QPR, the only bit of fight in there is from him.

Westwood the invisible man yet again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,101 ✭✭✭NUTZZ

The stadium is so quiet now, hasn't been a great game but it will be a good 3 points if City take it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

    Ah get lost Nasri! AGH!

Villa look so toothless and void of ideas in attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

I said last night that I thought Villa might nick a point. so wrong

Did David Platt play with Mancini during his time in Italy?

The midfield is clueless, no creativity, they wouldn't create a chance if they were playing till Sunday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,623 ✭✭✭double GG

That's one of the worst corners EVER!!

Not that wrong, if the ref gets the peno decision right, its a draw almost defo.

What a load of scutter, Lambert would look the part in the championship.

It wasn't pretty but three points is three points. Villa huffed and puffed but created little of note and we didn't really have to exert ourselves too much.

    More comfortable than expected.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

That corner, wtf was that :D

Well done Delph, a lovely pointless yellow.

Deliberate handball to stop an attack, not harsh at all, he was lucky not to be sent off in the end.

I'd say Barry Bannan was loving it tho.

People very harsh on Villa, a lucky break was the difference.

I was watching with an Italian commentary. The commentator laughed when that happened, it was comical.

Villa were unlucky there, should have had a penalty but you just don't know whats going to happen when its Mike Dean in charge of the game. Gives out red cards and penalties most games but then lets a lot slide on some occasions. A truly awful referee.

El Ahmadi will get his place.

Villa are just so one dimensional going forward. Ball to full back, diagonal cross to Benteke, hope for the best from the knockdown, repeat.

I hope they stay up more so than other teams down there but it's hard to be positive for them.
