As capacity is 850 I'm expecting MCD to put a limit of 12 tickets per person

Pretty sure it's 850. Just 650 on the floor.

wtf?? slayer in the academy?? thats a shocker?:eek: thought they would be wprthy of a bigger venue !!

It's definitely 850 cap Mushy - so must be 200 upstairs, that prob includes standing on the balcony's......

they are playing small venues - I'd love to see it being the full Slayer lineup, but it's just very unlikely - and sad........ will be close to €50 inc fees etc then......smallest venue they've ever played here for the highest ticket price ?

we'll see......it'll set out though I've no doubt on that score....

It's 200 upstairs but I think it's additional. Don't they stop letting people upstairs when it's full?

Ive never been able to just go up there anyway. Always seems like its more VIP. Even then, its a tiny venue for them.

Yeah again highlighting the lack of 3,000-4,000 capacity venue in Dublin.

Fee is likely still the same so needs to be covered somehow.

It really annoys me that this is in the academy, sure it's a great venue but it'll sell out in minutes and I along with a lot of other slayer fans won't be able to get tickets so we'll have to miss this.

Yes, usually you need a stamp

Get in early and ask nicely and they usually let you up, the bouncer at the stairs usually has the stamp, then you can head out of the venue again, or to the bar and go back up later. Though the bar is usually less packed up there.

Often a bands website will show the extra dates, while the promoter will hold off on the news so they can be sure 1 show sells out, and then sort of legitimately say its a sell out, so the second sells faster.

Surely if they have 2 dublin shows booked would they not be better just to book the Olympia for one night?

It would be allright, but is the olympia available that night

Personally I'd be much much more inclined to see them in The Academy than the The Olympia.

That's ManOwaR territory for extortionate gig prices.

Not sure I could for a band that I haven't liked since the late 80s with two members possibly missing.

It's only extortionate in that it's not the proper line-up. They are big rockstars, in the twilight of their career and big acts charge at least €40...... a popular act charging people for an 'intimate' opportunity usually costs more, you'd think they were pullin a streisand. They've only ever really played small venues here anyhow

if they've become such grubbers I'm surprised they are bothering the expenses stopping off here at all for a crowd that small, so work it out.
