new xbox live account

    hey all,

    I bought an xbox yesterday for my kid & me. played for a bit, set up a couple basic profiles etc, but no xbox live.

    today, I set up an xbox live account on the website (not using the console) figuring it would be as simple as logging into the account on the console. The problem is when I can't figure out how to get the account working on the xbox. When it asks to log into xbox live, I put the email address & password in, it then comes back and says ;

    this Microsoft account is associated with a different xbox live profile. try a different account

    I can;t figure this out..anyone?
