You're looking for an outdoor WLAN repeater? Quiet expensive. Run a cable and be done with it. Cheaper and more reliable (can be up to 100m). Especially for online gaming where every millisecond counts. ;)

GET a home plug kit, that has wifi ,in the reciever,

    see link.
Home plug reciever, ,must be on same ring as, sender unit,
    same electrical circuit,
Get a kit 1 reciever ,with wifi on it,
    one sender.
A 3bed house may have 2 or 3 ring circuits.depending on size of the house.
or run ethernet cable, from the router,

There,s reciever unit, with wifi out, and ethernet out on it,
    handy for console, laptop setup.
COLD weather wo,nt effect cable ,unless its torn, or ripped at some point.

If you want use regular cable outdoors, you should run it through a conduit and bury it (5-10"). Or look for special outdoor CAT6 cable, a 100m drum costs around 50 yoyos.

    Yes, but... ;)

You should run it through a conduit, try your local DIY store.

    Just buy a WiFi repeater

He'll need more than just a repeater if he wants to connect a router in the shed to his home network. An outdoor WLAN bridge doesn't come cheap.

If you are going to have more than 1 device in the shed you will need a switch anyway. You can try and get a wireless repeater that will do both depending on the range between house and shed this may be fine. I used one with and external antennea which I mounted outside and it was fine.

However I would agree with the posts above and just run a network cable to the shed. It will be better for the gaming. You can also add an additional wireless access point in the shed and then any other wireless devices (tablets, iphones, laptops) will work fine there as well

most routers have 4 connectors, for ethernet .you COULD simply run a long extension lead ,from the house,
    or get one of these,
    http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/electrical/switches-sockets/outdoor-switches-sockets/Diall-1-Gang-13A-Socket-With-External-Switch-12608708
attach , to internal esb network, same one router is on.
I think its easier to just get a long ethernet cable,
shed has its own fusebox, so homeplug doesnt work.
it would need to be waterproof ,re new lead.
or placed into a simple pipe, or plastic
    duct .
