Hi guys just looking for advice and experience of boarding kennels in or around Waterford (willing to drive about twenty min from city ).I may be looking for too much but here it goes. my self and other half are planning to go away for ten days in May but due to flight times our pup will need to be boarded for eleven nights and twelve days .
we have a whippet pup who will be six months by may .she is an inside dog and really feels the cold ( always under a blanket or in front of the fire ) so would love if could stay indoors or very well insulated heated kennels. I have looked at precious paws hotel but at 16 euro a night we'd be spending as much on her boarding as our accommodation which I wouldn't mind but just can't afford it .
our previous dog sstayed in grantstown kennels and it seems like a great set up and staff lovely but the dog I think went a little insane from all the barking and wasn't the same after now she was insane anyway but since she's passed away and was never the same I just wouldn't like to go back there .not their fault at all though.
would like somewhere where she will get decent amount of attention and exercise and very secure.
I know I may be asking for a lot but would appreciate any suggestions thanks.

Grantstown is pretty good, 13 per night but can be negotiated down? , not warm but should not be a problem in May.

Precious Paws in Glenmore (with new road it's within 20 mins) is very good. Run by a Waterford woman, she puts photos of the dogs up on Facebook so the owners can see how they're getting on.

We have been to a fair few of them over the years. Grantstown is ok but they have expanded the place a lot and there is a lot of barking and to be honest, not as nice a place as it once was. They have compromised care by going so big I think. Is precious paws run by a girl called. Catriona? If so I would be hesitant to recommend.
We have found a man in slieverue that we find great. He only takes 6 dogs at a time and its not as fancy as other places but our guy is 13 years old so we need to know he is being well looked after and will get his medicines given to him. Can't remember his name but will find out.

No, Mags is her name. Has a lot of ground for the animals and puts limits on the numbers. Friends of ours are putting their dog in there in June but had to book it last month.

I use the fella out by Slieverue, Mick is his name, have done now for a few years after various experiences with other kennels. we always send 2 dogs up together, one of which is really odd with strangers but after her first visit she nearly didnt want to come home, and now always runs straight to him tail wagging! PM me if you want his number

A few of my neighbours use Aine's Kennels near Stradbally and highly recommend it if that's not too far out.

I have a 6mth old puppy and we leave her in Woofers boarding kennels and I would highly recommend them. Its on the same road as the Grantstown kennels just a bit further out. They have about 6 kennels with indoor and outdoor sections so there will never be too many dogs there. The owner adores dogs and has a few of her own and I dont think would have a problem with special requests. The dogs seem to play outside a lot during the day with each other which is great for socialising a puppy.

I think it is only €12 per night but may be cheaper over a longer time.

that sounds perfect. is the outside secure? I'd say this one will be a little escape artist :)
