Chemicals in Rentokil fumigant

    Hi

Does anyone know what chemicals Rentokil typically use in their fumigants?

Say not to enter rooms for four hours if that might indicate the right one.

Been getting bites on my legs; mainly ankles. Bleeding ones sometimes. Is from the beds. Thought it was bed bugs. Rentokil surveyor apparently dismissed this idea (I wasn't there). Then again they also said it might be static electricity so they don't exactly instil me with confidence in their knowledge. Suggested fleas/ticks/mites. I know it's not ticks since they stay attached to you (again - not exactly inspired with confidence by the people wanting to fill my home with poison).

    Thanks

They just say environmentally friendly chemicals. Refuse to say what they are. Refuse to say why they won't say what they are. Just that they're doing it for the landlord not me. Tip of the iceberg of their discourtesy though really.

Would it be fleas? Fleas love ankles, yum. And the backs of knees. And... (scratch, scratch).

If you think it's fleas, wash your bedding, put the duvet inside a couple of big black bags in the freezer for a couple of days or replace it, hoover and dust, paying special attention around the edges of rooms where floors meet walls, dust with human-safe insecticide, and repeat every three days for about a fortnight; that should do it.

(And of course treat any pets with flea shampoo, and wash and freeze or replace their bedding too.)

well in fairness you have an issue they are there to sort it. The landlord has hired them to do it. Either accept it or go get and pay for your own remedy.

not trying to be funny, but they arent answerable to you and your not their client. By all means send them away but dont go complaining about the issue to your landlord afterwards.

Nope not funny, nor helpful - or relevant to my question for that matter.

As regards whom they are answerable to, that is another matter which I am pursuing - regarding things I won't post here.

actually it is helpful. You have an issue you have contacted your landlord, hes organised a resolution using a specialised professional company. They arent using special fumigant on your property that they dont use elsewhere, they are not answerable to you as to what they use as you didnt hire them.

If your not happy with their attitude or work practice then you have no obligation to let them in to do the work, however you equally have no right to pick and choose who the landlord used to do his work. If you want to do that then you pay for it yourself.

They are the facts of the matter, which IMO makes it a helpful answer.
