    Hi,
Looking for some ideas hope this is the right thread. Currently have an old keresene heating system. Where is the best place to start when looking to have it upgraded. Does everything need to be ripped out and start again and if so anyone had it done who might be able to give a ballpark. 3 bed terrace house.

2nd question. Thinking of getting a heat loss survey done before going forward to improve insulation etc. Keep filling in one draught and then another pops up.Just want to try and find out what we can do to improve the house for us and make it warmer. Seen some companies advertising that it can help pinpoint leaky pipework etc. is this true?

It's a normal house just has it's issues but sure don't we all. Any advice on either query would be welcome, thanks in advance

How old of a heating system are you talking about?
Is it possible to connect to natural gas where you are?

hmm, age not sure tbh. 15-20 years easily. possible to connect to gas alright. but liked the no bill at such just fill one a year and no worries about it. Also have a back boiler system with a coal fire as a back up if we ever needed it. hadn't really considered going with gas tbh, doesn't appeal straight off the mark but not ruling anything out.

Nat gas is the cheapest fuel to heat your house with. You could always install a high efficiency oil boiler and upgrade your heating controls with zones, room stats, cyclinder stats. Change your cyclinder to A rated also.
