    9pm M2 buoy report: temp 3.0, DP -5.2

No need to worry about marginality with that DP.........!

Bone dry in D14. Temp is 1.7c and dropping, DP is apparently -12c!!! Wind staying strong- Hopefully some nice streamers are going to smash the east coast tonight..

Are we beginning to see the streamer lines line up?

    1 into south Down/Louth

    1 into North County Dublin

    1 into mid Wicklow

    ?

Temp of 1.7 here with a dp of -9.3 humidity 44%!

I always wondered why streamers never form to the direct east of wexford it's just as long a fetch as from the back of the isle of man to dublin. Would there be a reason for this??

Looks that way at the moment. They're just practicing for later though :)

Just checked the radar and it certainly looks like they are lining up

Wish they would fix the radar. That interference off Dublin is a nuisance.

The Down/Louth one is looking very good aready!

Looking at the satellite, it looks like the wicklow bit may still be part of the front which is still moving away to the South?

I think you picked me up wrong Rougies, What I meant was we have just as long a sea fetch as where other streamers form but no streamers ever seem to form in that part of the Irish sea.

Yeah it's annoying alright. The met.ie radar image doesn't show it though.

looks like most of county meath will be under the IOM Shadow going by current radar, think im on the very northerly end of the dublin steamers, light flakes falling outside.

But you said you have just as long a fetch from the back of the IOM to Dublin. When the fetch is over the IOM, Dublin is in the shadow ie, no streamers. If the fetch is to either side of the IOM to Dublin, the fetch is greater than it would be from Wales to Wexford Town.

Actually ye, I wonder why there is no activity heading towards north wicklow/south Dublin? It has a nice long sea fetch At the moment. Maybe as we import the lower uppers these showers will form.

I must say I still think we'll get no more than a bit of graupel in Dublin!
But anyway - what the hell are those artifacts on raintoday.co.uk across from Dublin? Is there a glitch on a radar dish or something?
Hope it's not some sort of snow shield ;-)

I didn't literally mean the back of the island, Obviously then there would be no streamers. My question is why do streamers form where number 1 is marked here but not where number 2 is marked even though they are both roughly the same sea fetch. They are also forming from the head of anglesy into wicklow which is much shorter than both fetches I have marked.

They're just practicing for now. There's still remnants from that low hanging around from Dublin southwards.
