I have a good view of the Northern face of the lower Dublin Hills from my office window. There is a shower making it's way from the east to sw and It's moving at about 40km ph. I'd say it was about a mile long and moved off within a minute. I think that's the way it's been going all morning.

Meteoradar seems to be showing the Waterford shower activity better than the Met éireann radar.

Some nice streamers coming off the irish sea ATM

    Have a look on http://www.meteoradar.co.uk

Plenty coming behind them also from the UK

This is gonna stay interesting at the very least!

Even if it doesn't stick it's still a nice diversion and as the OP said

    At least it's not RAIN

No one said it would get plastered, said there were showers.

just had a brief snow-shower in Fermoy. The flakes of snow were blowing every which way, almost like hail, but definitely snow. Very slight dusting on the grass.

Have them here aswell, the quick drop sub zero in each of the showers is doing that,it's amazing.

Well folks looks like the pro's got it pretty spot on though they did underestimate the cold a few days back.
Showers (intensity wise) just haven't materialised and the ppn projected by the models has been hugely accurate.
It's Winter's final farewell and it's pretty fitting for the poor Winter it has been.
What have we learnt ?? That cold uppers over a warm sea don't always mean strong convection!!

It may sound silly,,but what's falling seems to be "Too dry" .

    Does that makes sense?

When We were out and about earlier,,even though it snowed heavy enough,it was so dry it was just bouncing off the windscreen of the car..I didn't even need to put on the wipers.

Even looking now at that shower just gone,,it's so dry it's bouncing off the ground..It's like a load of rice krispies. :D
