Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Another Juve fan for the night signing in.

Is it ok for me to hope for a Celtic stuffing? I'm a Juve fan, I hope it's fine with you guys!

Redknapp and the sky brigade taking breaks from fawning over beckham to analyse the game.

I hope Juve destroy Celtic in the most humiliating fashion. Lennon is a moan as big as Fergie.

Expect Celtic to 'get stuck in' and then decry poor reffing when they don't get 15PKs

whawah, stop supporting Juve, it's like against stuff and all.

    You thought wrong.

I prefer Juve to Celtic - is that very hard to fathom?

Just because I was born in Ireland doesn't mean I automatically have some instinct toward Celtic.

I prefer stripey jerseys to hoopy ones.
So who do you support? Why would you give a hoot who wins if you don't support either of them? Would you not just want to see a great game of football?

I guess i have to concede one thing, it'll be 2016 before i get to hear the Champions League music for real.
    I'm jealous of that.

There is a subtle difference between supporting Juve and wishing the worst on other teams. Reminds me of Liverpool fans cheering United defeats. Its a strange kind of logic.

Samaras has asked the ref to "give them a chance", Lennon has warned his players of the bumpy pitch.

You;d swear they were actually still in the tie....

I wish for Liverpool defeats because of Heysel and Celtic defeats because Tennents is horrible piss. Who cares for the reasons, it's football not an exam in logic and integrity.

Why shouldn't they have any self belief?

Nope, signing off now for the evening.

    Unlucky.

    Stenhousemuir.
    Sure it's not Shels ;)

Vidal and Buffon bossing Hooper around :P

This is a better ref tonight so far anyway. He's wide to Juve's pulling and dragging carry on.

    Poor defending

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Eirebear

    Only 5 more to go....

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Nicely set-up, but the defending was poor.

all we need is 4 now. Hooper was awful there.

What a save out of Buffon!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Buffon still best goalie in the world

    What keeper and class act.

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭AnarchistKen

Buffon is the man. He makes a goal look tiny

All I hear is the Juve fans...

That version of 'just can't get enough' wasn't the Celtic fans by the way ;)

I know few Juve fans and giving total thumbs up to Celtic fans on facebook.

Pity though that they think whole of Ireland supports Celtic.

The anguish on Lennons face is good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Eirebear

As expected, lots of huff and puff from Celtic, Juve look classy on the counter.

That's not anguish, he just looks like that.

Buffon is a class act. Definitely the best keeper in the world.

Other than him, Juve aren't playing well. It doesn't matter now though.

Some amount of beast kids coming from the french underage system of late. If you were to see Pogba, Varane and Niang together and guess they're all under 20 years old you'd never believe it, they're like clones of the perfect athlete, almost unnatural. Scary prospect when they all reach their peaks.

Have to agree with the guys on RTE Juve are happy to give us possession and defend their box, disappointed with some of our players performances and I think Lennon made a mistake playing Wanyama at CB.

    Ledley has been outstanding

If Juve had a half decent striker you'd have them amongst the favourites.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,312 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

The ref might as well blow up for full time now.

Plenty of chances in both games, pity we couldn't take a couple to make a game out of it.

Hopefully Matthew's is okay, doesn't look good for him.

    2-0, Quagliarella :D

    Glorious ball. Pirlo <3

Come on juve, get another few goals!

Juve look like they're still at Auchenhowie tonight...

Both teams don't deserve it?
I want to see Juve get another 2 at least, keep scoring against a weak opposition

Juve have strolled this, it's a training session.

    Celtic always deserve it.

how far your team has fallen when you the only thing that can connect you to this tie, the only thing you can celebrate is having a visiting team play on your training-ground :p

as for celtic, actually have played well over the two legs and the scoreline certainly flatters juve, but clinical finishing and cynical defending has served them well, still they're well behind the german sides and haven't impressed me that much
