Have added Willett and Holmes today at 200s. Both out early, only 7 back and could make ground. Was impressed by them yesterday, especially Willett.

I backed Willett from the start but I'm going to have another bite at 200s. 2 bad holes cost him dearly yeaterday.

It's hard to call... I think an each way bet on reed @100/1 might make a few bucks for me! I think he might post a score today ... I feel his game is better than his score represents... I taught he was unlucky in yesterdays round and if the golfing gods give him a break or two today he could post a target for leaders to beat!!! I'd be happy with the each way stake!

Down to just Day on my pre tournament bets but it might be a step too far for him. I wouldn't back against Speith

    It's DJ's to lose now.

He looks nailed on alright, but I bet if you had him backed you wouldn't feel so sure!

He is leaving tap in pars. That's really what I'm basing it on.

    Dustin Johnson win only 22\1

    Snedeker 50\1
    Reed 45\1
    Grace 125\1
    Finau 200/1
    All 4 ew

FRL Moore and Putman 66s and 125s both ew.

Might dabble into match bet too.

Gl everyone. Backing Johnson is risky, but at the price he is too big to ignore.

Grace saving me some pain, but not a lot if honest.

Fin T8th. No win but gave it a rattle. Final round 65.
Will give him another go this week at 55/1. & Fowler 20/1

Final round of 67 from Horshcel. T25th.
If he had stopped moaning about the course and acting like a brat im sure he would have scored better.
    http://www.golfdigest.com/blogs/the-loop/2015/06/just-a-guess-but-billy-horsche.html
Will stay away from him for the Brit Open!
But will prob stick with Fowler. Evn after missing the cut..badly:o

Have a tenner on Speith at 33/1 courtesy of PP new account offer.

Small win only stakes on Scott, Furyk, Matsuyama, Walker

Small E.W on Molinari, Leishman, M.Hoffmann, Martin

Seems like a bit of a lottery so kept the betting relatively small for a major.

    Nice result!!

Feel for all the Johnson followers. I got nowhere this week. Snedeker gave me a brief glimmer. Onto the next one.

If DJ had knocked in that Eagle putt on the last, it would have been my most expensive major for a long time - probably ever! I laid DJ and Spieth after the 2nd round at 6/5 (combined) on the basis that the course was so unpredictable, it was crazy to back anyone at a short price. Also, the course played progressively harder as the day went on so it was a disadvantage playing in the later groups. I never fancied DJ anyway and thought Spieth was far too short at about 2/1.

During the final round, I got a bit lucky when Spieth went to -3 and Dustin to -5. I still felt Spieth was favourite and backed him at just over 3/1, I then laid Dustin heavily at about 11/10. Needless to say, my heart was pounding as Dustin stood over that putt on 18 but I got out of jail!!

    Nice result!!

Cheers! I did play it scared and lay €50 off it when Spieth was 1.25, it was more or less straight after Grace drove O.B on the 16th, he ended up hitting 1.07 and I was sort of regretting it, then he nearly lost it after that, some rollercoaster of emotions on that course!

I'll be backing Harris English at 33/1 in America and Rafael Cabrera Cabello at 22/1 in Europe this week. Both have good fits for the course and while Cabello is in good current form it looks like English is not far away from his best form.

As happy as I am having backed Speith I felt for DJ's backers. He is a player I like and I have won plenty of cash backing him. How do people feel about DJ now ? Bottler ?

I don't think so. It's unfair to label him a bottler just because he has the ability to put himself into contention so often. I don't think either course has suited him in the 2 Majors so far and I reckon he will exercise all demons at Whistling Straights later this year to land his first Major.

I have him backed a few times at 20/1 and I'm really disappointed to see him as low as 14's for the final Major this year. I was hoping that the 'bottler' tag would stick and the bookies would ease him for the PGA Championship but he is strong 3rd favourite. Hopefully I can get some more 20's between now and then. Not only do I think he will win it but I can see him winning by a few shots.

I look at some of the other golfers who finish top 10-20 and thats where I see the players I don't want to back. Easy to post a decent final round when you are under no pressure. Oosthuizen said, and I'll paraphrase - I changed mentality on the back nine. I had nothing to lose. I even got lucky with my tee shot on 10 and it went from there.

There are plenty of players who make low final round scores. Those top tens don't mean much to me as a punter.

    .

Not yet and I think the tag is bit around his neck which is unfair. Trying to take betting and fact I backed him, I think if he can get major under his belt he will win 4+ IMO. The sooner one comes along the better but he reminds me of Phil at minute. Few near misses but once he got one they came in nicely after.

    Liking English myself this week

I agree that he can win a few Majors once the first one is out of the way later this year.

I wouldn't consider him a bottler. We watched people missing putts from the range all week. Just unfortunate for dusty that it happened when it did.

    Zach Johnson 40/1
    English 40/1
    Knox 50/1
    Rodgers 110/1
    Peterson 150/1

    FRL Oosthuizen 33\1, Mackenzie 200/1

    All ew

    Gl all.

Over in the US this week I've given two "shorter" players a chance and picked Zach Johnson and Brandt Snedeker. I think they will appreciate the sub 7,000 yards on offer here and go well.

In Germany I've gone for course specialist Thomas Bjorn who has two wins and a second at this venue previously and also I'm giving another chance to Wiesberger. He was disappointing in his home town Lyoness Open but I think after missing the cut in the US open, that he'll come back stronger this week

Small ew bet on Jager to be leader after day 1 in the Bmw international. He grew up on that course.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,512 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

    Snedeker win only
Horschel casey and Louis oost ew.
    Luiten ew in bmw.

Interesting. You've chosen the two players that were my second choices. Might stick a saver on each with an EW double now. Freaky stuff.
