Anyone think Paul Dunne at 300/1 is a very good price for a guy who is sitting nicely 4 shots back?

yep did him last night, it's sport and anything can happen 300/1 is very high

Looking like perfect scoring conditions today if it stays like this the course record could be under threat

Rickie Fowler 140/1? Surely worth a few quid

I just 20 quid on him E/W at 80/1, still pretty good for a guy one shot off the lead. You'd think...

Dustin Johnson frustrating the hell out of me today. He is so talented and has played utter sh*te

Today is gona be carnage by the looks of things.

Just added a few bets there

    Harrington @300/1
    Grace @125/1
    Walker@90/1

You will have worse 300/1 shots that's for sure ;)

I think -8 or more can still win.

Yeh it's a nice sweat and makes up for the disappointment of Dustin today. The guy is so frustrating and just so careless at times but I can't complain it has been a profitable weekend anyway.

Even without the money I'd love Harrington to do it , he is an absolute hero!!

If the wind blows I'd give the -7 a chance even someone like Fowler could set a target

Where was Harrington 300 to 1? if he was 100 to 1 before tee off on first day

looks like he did the bet after the first round which looks about right
after a 72 on day one

Spieth 5/2 or Day 7/2 to win now me thinks.

Also can't rule out Oosthuizen 10/3 or Harrington 18/1.

There could be each way value in Paddy Harrington - he has been here before, knows what to expect.

Spieth at 5/2 appears a steal though. I'd make him 6/4 ish after his recent major sunday (ok tomoro is monday) performances.

Really, I'd have thought the course playing so easy would make it hard for Speith to pull away from the field, and we're set for a bunch finish (with Dunne a very good bet to be in the mix). That said, the bookies seem pretty sure it's gonna be him, Day or Louis...

That's mad although you wouldn't have predicted him to play so well today. Should make for an exciting day tomorrow, will have to take a half day tomorrow from work.

Betfair Sportsbook 1/5 odds 4 places on Saturday morning

He was actually 400/1 on Friday night and in the clubhouse on -3 under iirc but I fell asleep before doing it

Came in to 300s then the next morning I presume when Johnson et al were sent out in the 50mph winds

I don't expect him to pull away but he gets the job done time and again. He knows how to win and pressure doesn't seem to faze him either. That said oosthuizen harrington dunne and day are all well positioned also and if rose fowler or scott could put in a 64 or lower they could set a target that may be difficult to catch.

Still fancy Day, Spieth or maybe Oosthuizen though as I said earlier.

But were himself and Jonson not trying to outdo each in self-destruction in the final stretch of the US Open. I don't know that we can yet say for certain that he is better at sealing the deal under pressure than Oosthuizen (or indeed Harrington).

No we can't but he won the two majors already this year with 4 solid rounds and is doing something very similar this week. Neither Harrington nor Oosthuizen are in anywhwere near as good form as him. If he starts sinking putts he won't be caught. That said any of the top 6 or so can still win.

We better also remember Oosthuizen has won here before. Maybe he is the one to watch. At 10/3 its worth a punt. It's all set up for a great days entertainment.

I still think the 5/2 on Spieth and 18/1 (each way) on Harrington are great value.

I backed Dunne , Fowler, Fleetwood, Snedeker, and Oosty this week. 7 places via PP. Small bets ew. Hoping for a great day for irish golf tomorrow! Would love to see Harrington do it! At the same time I would love to see Dunne make modern day golfing history.

    Added
    Rose 25\1
    Kaymer 40/1
    Matsuyama 45\1
    Wiesberger 80/1
    Knox 200/1

FRL Snedeker 50/1, Hun An 100/1, Molinari 100\1

In the states did Piercy and Will Wilcox at 25s

    All ew

Good luck everyone this week. Hope its good one.

Well hello winner, its been bloody too long!! Thank you Piercy and Wilcox!

Nice to get 1st and 2nd as Willcox place gives me bit extra reward. Only had 3euro on each as I usually have double that, but won't complain.

If I could sneak a place tomorrow I be happy with week. Least it's nice to have winner again after frustrating few months and I can relax bit more tomorrow.

With so much quality up top it's hard to think that anybody on -8, or worse, can put in a round to win it.

So players currently on -9 or better. Zach Johnson looks the stand out value being available at 40/1.

It is so so hard to see past Speith though. I think his putting could see him win by a couple.

Nice to be sweating on Oosthuizen and I hope he can get it done.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭skippymac6

Yeah I have to agree with most other people here that Speith looks the most likely winner. After Scott and DJ's late collapse last night, I'll be cheering on the Irish boys but it's Speith they have to watch out for

Hoping my horse Zachary Johnson hits the ground running

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,316 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Dont really like backing in play as I usually just a before tournement guy.

But put 2 small bets on
    Zach Johnson 2euro ew 35/1
    Goosen 1e ew at 80/1

    1/4 3 places

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,512 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Stuck a few quid on Fowler @ 80's ew this morn. He has history of finishing strong and there seems to be scores to be had with the wind due a bit later.

    Also Matsuyama at 150's ew

Conditions really seem to be getting tough just as the leaders are getting ready to tee off. Could suit a Harrington or another "grinder" if it really becomes a battle.
