Just a heads-up that Paddy Power are at it again this week! 8 e/w places (1/5 odds) available on the website for The Players but only 7 in the shop. In fairness, 8 places is an absolutely brilliant offer but rather sneaky not to offer it to ALL their customers.

FWIW, my fancy is Justin Thomas and have had a decent e/w bet @ 28/1 with PP online.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,295 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    Garcia 18/1
    Matsuyama 22/1 wo

    Thomas 30/1
    Henely 70/1
    Walker 100/1
    Bryan 175/1 all ew

Frl Rahm 40/1 Molinairi 50/1 Leishman 80/1 all ew (smaller bets)

    Gl all

Im going add little detail rather than post the list.

    Justin Thomas 30/1 -

A major winner in making, ticks alot boxes to do well here and think he is just as good as Rahm or Rose, but you get a bigger price.

For two outsiders, Walker might just be coming right and he has a nice early Thursday tee time and is 100/1 +. Grace is also in decent form lately hasn't had a bad week, course should suit him and with little more of the putter going hot could go close also 100/1+

    Moore @81
    Lowry @100
    Delaet @200
    Reavie @500

All big numbers, but 8pl. A very big field, so it's just a lucky dip in reality.

Probably as a few very low stake double e/w arrays (12-15) with that eurotrash singsong show e.g.
Aussie@81, Swedes@21, Poland@126 etc. Maybe the epic cheese Sax guy also @67.

Thus making it 10,000/1 avg. Unlikely any will win though (place parts only, probably),
so is just for fun, and for the price of an empty plastic bag in the shops.

    ...Reavie @500

Joint 2nd after R1, the other three are mid-leaderboard, but still very early days as yet.

All still in some contention, there was some real rubbish tonight, Hungary's song qualified but was shouty drivel. Bulgaria did the best, and is now up to joint 2nd. Swedes have a chance at 4th, maybe not 3rd though.

I'm not sure how it is sneaky? It's an offer specifically to online accounts in order to encourage online betting which has far less overheads and is a far more profitable market for a large bookmaker, seems like a perfectly reasonable and sensible business decision? It's like saying that selling beer in an off license cheaper than in a pub is sneaky.

7 places is still more than you will get in any other shop as well.

To think, most of can't get a bet on to win this amount :

Nice 500/1 numbers, still 2ton on win only is a fair stab in the dark. From memory si-woo was 12/1 going into that R4, which was still good value.

Am waiting on a 3171/1 today, but doubt Tringale can complete currently T5 on 10th. No point backing some horse at short 2/1 that falls at the 1st fence.

    Screen_Shot_2017-05-21_at_21.20.20.png

Funnily enough current leader (Day) was 100/1 to be leader of R3 yesterday in early play before doing 63. Byeong Hun An has been steady all week, but can only win this (live) if the other three slip up a bit.

Well done - looking good there - I would be laying out to ensure a good payout

My point is that - how many of us can get €100 each way on 500/1 shot?

Must have needed to spend some time making sure that bet was found for publicity purposes

If it was in a shop as per the article, then there is around 200 available doors to distribute Moola into. Guess the shop manager got a shock that day, and went to PR to milk it.

Generally a good week for the golf, most of the early doors high-odds leaders are still in place contention, plenty of places were available too back on Thur/Fri. Thought 150/1 O'Hair may have done better than current J5th position as based in Tx.

I went Herbert /Stanley this week , was on bourdy before his late withdrawal, best of luck everyone !!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,704 ✭✭✭zimmermania

Not very original but Mickelson has the form and at 16/1 7 places PP I had a score ew,one does not need to be a big hitter and the stats suggest short and straight is the key but Phil does well here so that's good enough for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,945 ✭✭✭✭PopePalpatine

I went for Phil too, besides, it's not like he has the US Open next week to worry about. :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 616 ✭✭✭iluvfatfrogs

Oliver Fisher is still available @70/1 in the Lyoness open. -3 after Round 1. Leader at -7 but don't think he'll sustain so real lead with the pack -5. Still expect Wiesberger or Storm to prob win but 70/1 is great value on 5 places and a relatively weak field

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,586 ✭✭✭4068ac1elhodqr

Some good picks from folks as above^ Berger*, Mickelson, Cink etc.

This week there's 8places to be had with either Sky/PP/Coral.
Early price and crowd logic/trending is never a bad avenue to follow, so:

    Kisner @61
    Dufner @67
    Chappel @67
    Berger @81
    Horschel @81
    +
    Reavie/Kim both @300c.
