No luck for me,All the prices I backed went in afterwards though. Can't complain if that happens every week.

in that case why are you not backing/laying on betfair. You're obviously not far off, just need a bit of luck.

My bankroll's teeny.I'll be building a while before I start thinking about it.The movements were fairly small too.Thorbjorn went from 125 to 100,Snedeker from 66 to 50 and Kuchar 30s to 28.Just happy enough to catch competitive prices for now.

Nice one on Day,I can never bring myself to back him when he's around 20s even though he's consistently doing the business now.

Looking at Honda this week some may noticed I have backed Mackenzie few times now this stage.

He has played this course over 50 times he has said. Now while course knowledge does not always work out hopefully its another decent week for him. He has done well here in past too.

Took 100 ew 6 places PP

yes have him on my short...ish list
Thinking Noh might go well at a price along with Matt Jones

Looking at the prices none of the well fancied one's stick out for me.
Think the market is very poor up near the top tbh,not counting Tiger and Rory.

    Agree

Would back Rory if he was 12's, but 9 is too short. For me anyway.

    This weeks bets

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=89173815&postcount=258

I was tempted by Will McKenzie aswell but when I missed the 125s available I decided to go with Koepka who is actually a resident on the course

100s and 6 places is still a decent price to be fair

Ya im still happy to punt on him.

I am thinking of Rose too. Mickelson at 25s is appealing too.

Will hope to have bets finalised by tomorrow night

Chris Stroud interests me - 80-1. Has form of 13, 9 for last two years. two top 20s in his last 3 tournaments.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,911 ✭✭✭bradlente

Koepka moving in a bit,As short as 66/1 w/skybet.That 125/1 will surely be gone soon.Didn't think much of Mackenzie earlier,Bit miffed if he does well now.
Zach Johnson and Charles Howell III are the only two I've looked at,Think there's a good chance of odds dropping.Especially Zach,Before match play this week he was in fine form.Charles Howell not so much,But I think 66/1 is underestimating him a little.

Took a load in the Tshwane Open.Molinari,Fleetwood,Walters,Hugo,Quesne,Bland,Frederick Andersson and Sjoholm,Some stakes smaller than others.Quesne has already moved in and I only just added Hugo @66/1,Think there's a bit of uncertainty there.

In SA I fancy Otto and in the lpga I'm backing Pressel e/w @66/1

I'm also noticing a serious link between form here and US Open form.

Rose 4th last year and won 2013 US Open
Thompson a win in 2013, 2nd in 2012 US Open
McIlroy a win in 2012, won 2011 US Open
GMac has form of 9,9,6 here last 3 years and won 2010 US Open

Even looking at 2006, Ogilvy came 2nd in Honda and won the US Open. I'm sure there a loads of other examples.

Of the top 10 in last years US Open that are playing, there is Rose, Mickelson, Dufner, Horschel, Donald, Matsuyama

I'll be choosing my selections out of those 6 (and maybe Stroud too!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,349 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

British and Irish seemed to have done quiet well here over past few years

    Mcllroy 1-70-40-13
    McDowell 9-9-6-31
    Rose 4-5-3-mc
    Westwood 9-4-29-9
    Donald 10-2(2011, 2008)
    Casey mc-4

Might just worth keeping eye on. Harrington won this in 2005 although on different course

    Ok I have went with

    Justin Rose 25/1 ew PP
Mcdowell 28 exchanges win and place
Mickelson 30 exchanges win and place
    Matsuyma 40/1 ew PP
Also did Mackenzie yesterday like I said

Mickelson is just little too big for me to ignore at 29/1. I know he has struggle with fitness, but he says he in good nick now. Of course he might be just saying that, but he has a excellent record in tough course. So close to winning US open on numerous occasions and also does well on courses where good Bunker play and short game is required.

    Think Justin Rose has withdrawn...

    PGA TOUR Media ‏@PGATOURmedia
"As he continues to rehab from right-shoulder tendenitis, Justin Rose withdrew Monday from The Honda Classic."

Must be a lot going on Mackenzie

With Rose out I have taken punt on Billy Horschel.

My European Tour Picks Tshwane Open

longest course on tour but of course they are playing up on the highfield to think steyn making half way line drop goals look easy in rugby and convert that to hitting a golf ball.

my stand out choice this week

Tommy Fleetwood 50/1 bet365- Has enjoyed playing golf in this part of the world, will enjoy the testing par 5s here. Has Ryder Cup on his mind so has it to show here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,911 ✭✭✭bradlente

Quesne after pulling out?Walters and Fleetwood after tucking in nicely.Zach and Howell too,Think Rose pulling out mattered there a bit.
