Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

... use your own player to boost yourself for a header?

I was just wondering as I saw Vidic up on Ferdinand's back in the game on Tuesday. It wasn't deliberate (didn't look it anyway) but he appeared to get a bit of extra height.

Anyone out there that could clear this up for me?

No direct law against it, but it's deemed as either unsporting behaviour or ungentlemanly conduct.

    So no, not allowed.

Should be fine. I always wondered why players don't do it more.

Have a huge player pick up the smallest player.
    Drop it in there.
    ??????
    Profit

Like lifting in the lineout in rugby? If it isn't dangerous I can't see a reason why not.

Always thought it was illegal due to the fact that I saw it in the "you're the ref" section of an early 90's Shoot! annual.

Waits for that certain poster to come in with "there are no rules in football. There are laws in football"

Yea,but I was thinking like pushing off their shoulders. Like what countless strikers are done for every week.

What about catching the ball with your shirt and then running with it?

Players should have their team mates on their shoulders during corners

    So..it is allowed...

..but you're taking two players out of the passage of play...not something I'd reccomend anyone do regularly!

From a tactical perspective it could be interesting.

A team has a corner, they play the ball to a point 15 feet above the ground with 3 players forming a lifting pod under the target area.

Does the defending team commit an extra 3 players to the goalline to protect against the inevitable header or do they commit an extra 3 players to form a defensive lifting pod to try to clear the ball.

Get a jockey back or sit on a team mate's shoulder at a corner.
