I thought that too, but there are some counter-examples. For example, Kate Moss is called a "supermodel", but I don't think she's genuinely beautiful, and that may be influenced by the stupid life choices she has made. Drugs, hanging around with losers like Pete Doherty, getting knocked up by a magazine Hack, and so on.
