Was let loose for a bit in London again today so of course had to pay another pilgrimage to Leicester Square. Picked up a couple of boxes and a pick-a-brick tub. Was then approached by a member of staff who took my pile of stuff off me, put it behind the till and left me to carry on browsing stuff. She gave me a ticket like you might get at the deli counter in the supermarket, of course it was Lego. :)

Unfortunately I had to give the ticket back.

Just got two >50 quid bricklink orders in and now need to knock together an urgent model for the dab weekend in Portugal next week. Nothing like stress building...

Mines in a bad way - heavily played with by me in the 80s, and my daughters in the last few years. The stickers are fade, peeling and all still there, but showing it's age.

There are aftermarket replacement stickers out there. I bought a set for 8448 and they were fine. Seller on ebay based in Australia.

Here's one with said Fire Station https://www.brickstickershop.com/Webwinkel-Category-7045501/Brandweer.html

I know nothing about this seller.
Sometimes websites with instruction scans include a sticker scan at the end, sometimes with a ruler. You can then have a go yourself.

    Just finished the new Carousel.

Looks stunning when finished and is a great accompaniment to the Ferris Wheel, but it's a major pain in the balls to put together. It has none of the original's structural weakness and it's really clever and inventive how slots together, but these sections of x6, x6, x4, x12, x24 make it an absolute slog. It's a rare set that I don't enjoy putting together. Love the result.

Any pics of the Carousel and Ferris Wheel together by any chance?

My man cave was dismantled a few months back, so my lego is living in the attic at the moment. So here's the worst photo you'll see comparing the two. I'll get better ones during the week.

Nice, good scale between the two!

I sense a "show us a picture of your Lego in the attic" sub thread coming on.... :D

Oafley Jones, I sincerely hope your other half has no idea of the value of all that lego!

Cool, what set is the plane at the end???

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,553 ✭✭✭madalig12

Haha. Didnt realise it was gonna all be built in the attic!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,556 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

Do you build them in the dark of the attic by touch only?

The yellow plane is 8855. It's the oldest built set I've in the attic and my oldest surviving Technic set. It's weird to think that I built that almost 30 years ago, and how the bricks are as new.

How else could you truly become a master builder.

I've decided to have a go at a Lego based YouTube channel. My plans are to release primarily leaks and new pictures. I might also release some reviews and stop-motions if all goes well.

Maybe you can hit that subscribe button!

Read online that a BB-8 model is likely to be in the Last Jedi September wave of releases for the €100 slot. If it's happening, wow.

Every single Last Jedi set. UCS BB-8 looks great, the first order scout walker is atrocious. Overall a good wave.

Yeah BB8, Kylos Tie look cool. Bomber and Guerilla walker decent. Transport Pod only way to get Rose? The FO walker and Destroyer both look rubbish.

Kylo's Tie and BB8 will be a must buy for me. The rest I'll pick up when discounted.

I've been collecting all the buildable figures to date and that praetorian guard looks incredible!!

Not been interested in the buildable figures so far, but Chewie may make me change my mind.

Will have to get the assault walker and BB8, but the star destroyer looks a bit meh.

If you're looking to get into the buildable figures pick up the Scout Biker and Speeder Bike. You won't be dissapointed.

With four young kids in the house, there's plenty of Lego knocking around here. The kids decided to get me a Technic set for my (51st) birthday a few days ago. I've never assembled one before, but wow, what fun! It's set #42063, the BMW motorbike. Now, what next????

Another Technic set? Or just another nice set? Something just fun to build? Or challenging to Build? Something to Display or hand to the kids once built?

    All of the above!

We have lots of superhero sets, Lego Friends sets, and lots of classic(?) Lego in the house.

So, I guess that I'll be looking for something for me, whether it be another Technics model or just another nice set. Actually, maybe something challenging!

If I could afford it, I'd buy the Shield Helicarrier for me and the two boys!

The new modular building was an enjoyable build. Some really cool little details in it.
