Mortgage approval and possibility of new job

    Hi,
    Trying to figure out if this can happen...
    If a person was handing in their notice in permanent job and had applied for mortgage with 95% chance of getting it sorted within 2-3 weeks before said employment ended and new employment started. Would the person have to tell lender and would they be able to find out if they didn't.

    There is a question under employment which asks if your situation is likely to change soon or something similar so you would have to lie on that question
