Nope. Can't think of anything except he'll probably be more honest about not accepting alternative points of view on life. Oh yes, and Jesuits have a fundamental dislike of being questioned. Of course, this man has just become infallible so he can relax now.

He attended the Philosophical and Theological Faculty of San Miguel, a seminary in San Miguel. Bergoglio attained the position of novice master there and became professor of theology. He is another homophobic bastard indeed.

    ^^
Then gone on refresh. I sense a cover up.

Theyre a mouthy lot . Have amongst other things at various stages disagreed with hardliners on women deacons, homosexuality, etc. some of their theologians espoused a certain moral relativism.
Oh and they were involved in the gunpowder plot!

More background information on the new pope:

    Frank's Wild Years (Tom Waits)

Well Frank settled down in the Valley
    and hung his wild years
on a nail that he drove through
    his wife's forehead
    he sold used office furniture
out there on San Fernando Road
    and assumed a $30,000 loan
at 15 1/4 % and put down payment
on a little two bedroom place
his wife was a spent piece of used jet trash
    made good bloody marys
kept her mouth shut most of the time
had a little Chihuahua named Carlos
that had some kind of skin disease
and was totally blind. They had a
    thoroughly modern kitchen
    self-cleaning oven (the whole bit)
    Frank drove a little sedan
    they were so happy

One night Frank was on his way home
from work, stopped at the liquor store,
picked up a couple Mickey's Big Mouths
drank 'em in the car on his way
to the Shell station, he got a gallon of
gas in a can, drove home, doused
everything in the house, torched it,
    parked across the street, laughing,
    watching it burn, all Halloween
    orange and chimney red then
Frank put on a top forty station
    got on the Hollywood Freeway
    headed north
    Never could stand that dog

    Cardinal Peter Turkson (Ghana)
So how long before he is implicated in the child abuse scandals? Can't imagine many if any cardinals didn't have a hand in it (no pun intended) at some point during their careers.

The way some people are talking about him you'd think he was going to sell off the family jewels to buy stuff for the poor. Which would be great as they're not short a few trinkets in the Vatican.

Let's give this lad the benefit of the doubt at least until tomorrow!

I'm sorry but if the's Pope Argentinian it should be Messi. Maybe that's the church's cunning plan? Messi's Argentinian, if they could get him to meet and greet the new Pope they may have a way of reaching out to the masses?

But Bregman said Bergoglio's own statements proved church officials knew from early on that the junta was torturing and killing its citizens, and yet publicly endorsed the dictators. "The dictatorship could not have operated this way without this key support," she said.

You're taking being a pope out of context.
