    Evening all,

    Tough challenge tonight!

Helen and Barney gone I'd say!!......:(

Ruaridh is having a bit of a nightmare with the Ox cheek.......

    Ollie breezing through...

Rukmini and Ollie in the next round?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

There was some lovely dishes there tonight, Hats off till tomorrow night lads!..........:):):)

    Sparse viewing tonight!

I was working, but my *^$*"* UPC box didn't record the episode :mad::mad:

    Did I miss anything good?

Anyone know if it's repeated at any stage?

    Anyone watching tonight?

Dunno about his cooking (which looks deeply suspect!), Scott's appearance would put me off my lunch.....

Will Zara's dithering do for her?

Only saw the first episode... are the Beeb repeating episodes at all? They used to be great for Saturday omnibuses.

I think it's fair to say that Scott didn't have a very good round that time :D

They get 45 minutes to make the dish, I wonder how long it took John to make it?

    It looked bloody gorgeous!!!

Right decision at the end, some train crashes there......

Just watched Friday's knockout round..... Claire was really, really unfortunate to come up against those two! In any other round her food probably would have got her through on top, or nearly. She seemed really nice as well.

But what a stormer of a quarter final, I don't remember the previous one being that good. Rudmini looks like the one to beat now.

Pretty good from Ollie and Rumini there HH........I only watched it today!....

I think though Rumini is being "bigged up big time" if you know what I mean. It was the same with the girl who is the Judge now (can't think of her name). Time will tell. It generally is a sign if John falls in love with her style!.....Her two courses were a total triumph though! I loved the mackerel receipe!

I really like this format now that I know what's going on. It's harsh but truly compulsive watching!...You remember the pain and the triumphs and identify with them on a short-term basis...

    'Till Wednesday!
    :):):)

Just caught up on last night's episode now....

Yeah, there wasn't too much guesswork involved in who the first two to go would be!

The restaurant bit seemed to be more about plating up and presentation skills than actual cooking - although that could be the editing. Just didn't seem as challenging as previous ones.

The older lady (can't remember her name, sorry whoever you are!) was streets ahead of all the others, fair play to her. Not as stand-out-ish as Rudmini (sp?) the other night, but softly softly might just catchee monkey.....

I'm all set for watching tonight's episode live, if anyone's around for a bit of chatter.

Ah lads....seriously.... last night's contestants got meatballs and pasta, and these guys get.... what exactly is this???

That is NOT an equal contest!!!

Awww, I quite liked the blondie fella, very easy on the eye

    Evening all, anyone around?

    :)

    Meatballs?.....seriously?.....

Shivi's mushroom burger thing is ugh!

Mince is so predictable......let's have a bit of craic with the invention test again!

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,269 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    I'm here!

Mince doesn't give you a lot of options, really - it was always going to be meatballs or burgers!

Or that mushroom confection of Shivi's - yuk yuk, talk about unappetising!

The other girl is very giggly, could get seriously annoying

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

John's pie is a bit char-grilled at the edges!!!!

    lol!

In all fairness, a pie isn't exactly a hard blind test!........

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,269 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I suspect there's going to be some interesting faces pulled when they come to taste these pies..... and they haven't even got to the coleslaw yet!

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,269 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Gosh, she gave up the giggling fairly sharpish.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

Helen's sauce is very watery!.....another town crier!

Shivi's pie looks ok, the coleslaw is a bit dry for me!!!!

Kitchen sink in this pie Mr. Red shirt!

    Dave is through anyway!

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,269 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    As I thought.

How will those girls cope in a pro kitchen

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,269 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Shivi's never cooked a pie before, never cooked duck before - how did she make it onto MC for heaven's sake! And would she EVER put her hair away!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

The restaurant gig is really just about plating up and timing of cooking the duck/chicken etc......

It's more of a pressure test really...
