Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Divorce - Affidavit of means

I have been searching for information on DIY divorce for the last while. My (soon to be) ex is the 'applicant' but as he is not great with paperwork I will be filling it all out for him. I have come across conflicting information on the court website and in the documentation received from the local court regarding the Affidavit of means.

We have a separation agreement in place which dealt with the family home etc and we have no children, so financially there is nothing to sort out in our divorce. On the court website it says that "In divorce and separation cases, the applicant must file an affidavit of means (where financial relief is sought)" but in the paperwork it says that it is mandatory. Can someone clarify this please?

Ring the relevant court office and ask. Dublin requires both parties to complete an affidavit of means, but Naas (the Eastern Circuit), for example, only requires the applicant to submit one.
