...strange that its still cold enough in mid afternoon in late March to snow. sky is an inpenetrable grey as far as the eye can see

Indeed - very unusual. Casement reporting 0c and light snow at 1400. Really quite extraordinary for mid-March.

Just light drizzle here now. 1.6c DP 0.7c atm.

heavier snow in Dublin 8 now...back of the net !

I spoke too soon, it stopped as quickly as i typed and now is more of a drizzle

I can second that, wet slop is the only way of describing it.

:D That's my evening planned so! I guess I know where I'll be going later!! Did that same drive during the event in January and made it across :D .. keep an eye on the 9 o'clock news, if you don't see a stranded motorist around Sally Gap, camera in hand, writing "snowmaker (date)" on his bonnet, then you'll know I made it! :pac:
If you get stuck give me a shout:D (look up Irish snowblower on youtube)

Period of sleety snow in Castlebar at lunch time, nothing since, but the sky is covered in cloud

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

Been seriously heavy for most of the day in Tallaght but nothing sticking where I am unfortunately.
If this keeps up into tonight when the temps drop, it could get pretty deep.

yeah we have less than an inch left but our road is nearly flooded and water all over the garden under the snow, id say easily 5 or 6 inchs by now, maybe more if there wasnt any melting going on.

Showing signs of sticking, cars are slowly getting a white/half transparent layer.

I don't think I'll hit double digits in donegal but I'm not sure. Laptop is broke so I'm limited at checking charts. It all depends on the positioning of the frontal low thur/friday. Time will tell as always

any more snow forecast for tonight lads?

  • Registered Users Posts: 551 ✭✭✭Wine Goddess

Ah what a waste - if ONLY we'd had the dewpoints of last week, and the ppn of today we'd have been laughing in up to a foot of snow!

It snowed pretty much non-stop from 11 this morning until about 3.30pm here in Tallaght/Firhouse but didn't stick :(

DP is 0C and temp currently 2C - NRA traffic down at moment so DP could be wrong!

    If only. if only.........

    SNOWING AGAIN HERE NOW!!!!
