Crazy low temperatures and dew points in Germany and the Netherlands now, dew points are either side of -15 C and temperatures generally -4 to -7 C but -10 C at Kahler Alsten which is on a fairly high hill at about 700m. Noticed last night it had dropped to -20 C inland south Sweden. This must be like a hundred year return air mass for those regions at this late date in the "winter" season. We had climatological winter then astronomical winter already so this must be bizarro winter.

Should get interesting overnight as the colder support finally begins to grind its way south. I suspect there may be some snow to track for north Leinster by about midnight, whether it amounts to much or not.

2 degrees here, real feel -3, DP 1 degree and humidity 97%, if only there was moisture in the air.

Humidity at 97% would suggest there's nearly enough moisture for rain or mist, or dare I say it, sleet!

Its very very light, just been out there and the cold is worthy of throwing that log on the fire :)

The clouds here have looked laden all day long and nothing dropped not even the unspoken (rain ssshhhh), the first bit of proper sky besides cloud I saw all day was about 6.30pm just before dark, in all it has been a mouldy dank cold day here, blah weather is the only way to describe it.

a few tiny snow grains falling outside, very, very, extremely light, have to look hard under a bright lamp to spot it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭Nabber

The last snow we had here evaporated before it hit the ground (not literally). But the humidity was so low that the roads dried within an hour or two. The sun in summer struggles to do that.

some dry weather would be nice. Even if it's cold.

have to agree after the deluge we got here down in the south east some dry weather would be nice ....looks like we will get it over the next few days
