Slightly heavier shower coming down now but not enough to stick by a long shot, still nice to look at :)

Showers seem to be increasing in intensity and frequency very slowly here in the city centre, been snowing lightly for about 25 minutes without stopping now and has been getting heavier (just about heavy enough to start accumulating on some surfaces but still quiet light-moderate) every once in a while

I wonder will the streamers coming off the east coast of the UK

    1.Make it across the UK

2.Pep up when they reach the Irish Sea

3.Leave a few folks surprised in the morning

    4. Or will the Irish Sea just provide the goods

really kicking off now in NE England, not so organized at the moment but you can just about see streamers developing. Gerry Murphy said tonight "the air is becoming more unstable" and showers will become more frequent and we're beginning to see this now.

will Ireland and Austria be kicking off tomorrow evening?

O Elmer u tease. Trap would probably send all the groundskeepers a text telling them they're "not playing" with the pitch anymore. Send that shower activity up to donegal and you's will be grand

Just got up for an early start in work (early finish too) and it's snowing lightly but snow rather than grupel. Looking at radar, it looks like it has been coming down in light moderate intensities for the past few hours. It seems to have been constantly intensifying just west mest of around Celbridge/Maynooth as far as around Enfield or so which is perfect for me! Very light covering on all surfaces so the drive as far the main roads could be a bit hairy. Also, a timid but living Irish Sea is really coming to life now. Some bright echoes now appearing around Angelsey and just to the north of it. things cold be get rather interesting from Dublin northwards in the coming hours!

Edit: Snow more moderate with proper large flakes - 0.2/-1.4

Light snow in Lucan for past hour at least!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,260 ✭✭✭highdef

There's a large swathe of much heavier (not very heavy but moderate with some heavy bursts) snow with the front end about 30/40km away from the east coast. The depth of this band is also about 30/40 km thick and enlarging at the back end all the time. If it keeps it act together or get any heavier, it could cause real problems in eastern areas, particularly from Dublin northwards, in a few hours time.....hopefully before the sun has been able to make any possible impact on temps. I would say there will be accumalations even on the coast but it could be a bit more graupely there. I don't make too many predictions like this but this time, it just looks right and ninja snow is usually more common than predicted will in advance snow.

    have I just jinxed it!?!?!?!

Good snowfall here in Knocklyon, not really sticking to the roads though. Flakes seem to be getting bigger!
