Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know what happens all your other debts after you go into the new mortgage arrears program

THE GOVERNMENT is hoping legislation to help householders in difficulties with their mortgages can be passed into law before the summer, according to Minister of State for Finance Brian Hayes.

Cause if you can't afford the mortgage, how can you pay everything else

The personal insolvency bill will not apply solely to mortgage holders, if somebody has a massive credit card or personal debt that they can't pay that will also be considered.

Banks have already started offering to buy personal debt of mortgage holders in order to consolidate the debt. In some cases the personal debt is being written off as it's a pittance compared to the mortgage. The aim of this is to secure as much of the mortgage as possible, as this is the more significant drain on the finances of the banks.
