Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not surprised that you came out with this. It was clearly not a penalty but there was incidental contact. You'd never see that but you wouldn't want to.

Decided to post this now as I'm expecting you so saying something stupid about this penalty.

    Hahahahahahaha :D

Unlucky Torres, fair play for stepping up.

LOL, is all I can say to that, horrible peno & his confidence back to 0 again. I knew it was going to happen, as soon as we won the peno I said torres will take and miss this!

You actually have to feel sorry for the chap. He makes the effort and loom what happens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,920 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Torres looks like he could do with a tampon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,038 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Why is he taking the pen for anyway. Shouldn't they win the tie first.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Peno aside Torres actually playing very well now agree with earlier post a few slaps before every game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

Well, I enjoyed the few mins of confident Torres.
Give it what, 15 games we might see it again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,311 ✭✭✭weiland79

You could actually feel the stadium holding its breath and willing him to score that peno.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

I dont care if he missed...of we go through its all down to Torres.

Impressive but could he lift "who ate all the pies" Turnbull?

Chelsea have had a few strikers like that. Kezman and Shevchenko to name but 2. Real triers but it just didn't work out for, but the fans stuck with through thin and thin.

If that was Benayoun's last ever action in a Chelsea shirt I'd be a happy man. Great play from Torres again.

well done 3-1 on night and torres showing signs of getting better plus he scored! :D

Thank fugue for that. Hazard Man of the Match. Forget the penalty, Torres was superb after the boot in the face and his dander was up. Perhaps someone can give him a dig before the start of each game.

Happy for Chelsea to play more games in Europe :)

Good performance overall, despite the poor defending for their goal.

I definitely prefer the Ramires/Mikel midfield to Lampard/Mikel or Lampard/Ramires, it certainly has more balance to it. That being said, I still don't think it should be the starting midfield duo at the start of next season.

Eden Hazard was excellent tonight, inventive, a constant menace, a very real threat every time he picked up the ball. I'm reallhy looking forward to seeing him next season, he's bedded in quite well to English football but, much like Juan Mata, I think we will see the best of him in his second season in England. A really sublime talent who, in time, could be up there with the best of them.

Credit to Torres too. Yes he was awful first half and yes he missed the penalty but he chased around, he ran at defenders and he scored the crucial goal to put us through, I'm happy enough with that.

Wish I could afford it :)

I love these lottle revivals torres has, hopefully he gets a few smacks before the next game fire him up.

For the last 20 minutes Torres was excellent, anyone can miss a peno but he had the balls to take it. Reminded me of the legend that is Drogger against Liverpool after their manager called him a cheat just couldn't be handled if only Torres would put that effort in every game he would be loved

Onwards and upwards, dodgy at the back but that just makes things more entertaining.
