Is this a real buyer or one of the scams mentioned before. I just ask because I had a 'buyer' who wanted the car shipped to Malta, so I told him to send me a 'Laqgħa mal-Komunità Maltija ' form and I'd complete sale - never heard from him again !!:P

Thanks for the concern, but the guy is coming to view the car and I'm just helping out by getting a shipping price . I might offer to deliver it for cost myself if the shipping is very expensive. Road trip at someone else's expence is always more fun.

Freight out of Ireland is relatively cheap, but even so it will cost you a grand, and at that not to some remote part of Germany.

alternative is two ferries ,say 150, 150 fuel, cheap hotel ,50 euro ,ryanair home 125. few meals, or better still add a day and enjoy the spin

I recently sent my friend's car over and he paid €650 for the service, however I would not recommend the company that did the work. I am sure there are others that can do it for more less same price.

The car has no NCT so needs to be transported rather than driven, I wouldn't like to explain to the German, French or Dutch police why it isn't legal. Can you transport it ?

€650 seems reasonable , did they specialise in cars or were they a freight company?

Freight company. They transported the car on a trailer. For that fee they could bring the car as far as central part of Poland.

Very close to Frankfurt , at the moment I'm just enquiring, the deal is far from done yet.
